Didn't get a look at this till late in the day -- apologies.
The previous version giveaway that I have is is the full version 4, so this is probably worth getting IMHO to sit alongside of it -- v.4 should continue to work just fine for those features not in 5 elements. The main feature of COLOR projects is a bunch of filter presets you select based on large thumbnail previews, and might be considered a bit gimmicky by some folks. You might find more value however in the adjustments for Denoise, Tonal Value, Clarity, Dynamic, & Sharpness, along with the ability to erase scratches, though sadly missing is White Balance.
COLOR projects 5 elements is of course more for enhancing images rather than editing them. I've been scanning all of our old photos, and was working on prints from one roll of film that showed their age, having lost some detail & suffered a pronounced yellow tint. DxO Optics Pro 11, given away last summer, provided the easiest fix, mostly by setting the white balance. I got almost identical results in Adobe Lightroom, though it was not as easy as in the DxO app. None of the presets in COLOR projects 5 elements could do anything to improve the images because of that predominant tint, which the app could not correct. Given images without that sort of problem it could make them look better, but not as nice generally as the results I've been getting from PhotoLemur 3 [or that you'd get from the Perfectly Clear or Engelmann software]. OTOH none of those could come close to the few more dramatic effects in the projects software.
Like most Franzis giveaways the setup file is in a wrapper that shows the window where you can request, & later copy/paste the registration key. Once you enter the ID & key the wrapper unpacks the real setup file in the C:\Users\[UserName]\AppData\Local\Temp folder. I normally grab & save this setup file. Once setup installs the projects software it adds an older copy of the Microsoft C/C++ runtime files. Once it's installed in a VM I normally copy the program's folder to my regular copy of win10 to avoid that small bit of overhead being added to Windows. On 1st run of that copy I enter the key, & the app adds the necessary files to the Users folder along with whatever registry keys might be installed normally. Last I copy the PDF manual in the GOTD zip file to the program's folder, & add a plain text file with the key for later reference.
