GiveAwayOfTheDay has started holding "Contests of the day", but not making this clear in their mail-outs. Twice now I've been disappointed at the offering.
I know, in the small text below the offering, there's the text, "Win one of the..." which implies a contest, but could you make it clearer that this is a "we *may* give you" rather than a "we *will* give you" that we've come to appreciate about GAOTD?
I realize by doing this GAOTD opens up its offerings to companies that don't want to take the risk of giving away hundreds of copies of its software for a limited return, but rather potentially generates hundreds of interested contacts, and only 30 free copies going out, *but* it comes at a cost to GAOTD -- goodwill.
Twice now, I have felt misled. GAOTD, you owe it to your reliable followers and to yourself to do everything you can to ensure your followers know *exactly* what they are clicking on. I suggest that in the Header of the offering, instead of "XSplit Personal License" you put "XSplit Personal License (contest)". This way, if we read the tag below, and decide "yeah, I would like one of those, and I'm OK with entering a contest, I'll click the link," then we do so, with full knowledge of what we're doing.
Anything less feels deceptive, and will cost GAOTD in the long run.
