   First, I abhor that you have changed the game giveaway site to the same format as the software site, requiring Farcebook intervention to download. But I cannot access anything on the new page; clicking the download button does nothing, clicking yes or no on "was this comment useful" does nothing, trying to post a comment gets me a blank page with "405 - Method not allowed" in the upper corner.

   And to add insult to injury, the forum told me my password was incorrect, so I had to reset it.

   I've enjoyed this site for years, downloaded dozens of games, and purchased several of them. (Same for the software site.) But are you going to drive me away from here as you did your software site?

   You might need to try another browser. Palemoon doesn't work for me but Firefox does.

   FWIW, you can also try find the game download link via http://export.giveawayoftheday.com/game.xml

   For the main site, you might want to review the last 3 posts of Personal download link via e-mail?

   Thanks. I am using Firefox (but NoScript blocks anything with "ad", "market", or "google" in it, also run AdBlock and Ghostery). But the link apparently works (in 23 minutes I'll know, lol).

   Link no longer works. Too much trouble to download anything now ...I am NOT, under any circumstances, going to create a Steam account. Not for every game in their catalog would I allow their intrusive and invasive malware on my system.

   And still cannot post comments. Type in the comment, click the submit button, and just get that blank page with "405 - Method not allowed".

   The export link may work for the next game giveaway. There probably isn't a link for a download in the XML file because it's likely a Steam download (I don't know for certain as I don't care at all for time management games).

   If you want to post on the main page then I'm pretty sure you'll have to allow at least GOTD and the various Google entries to run for that page in NoScript. I could be wrong but I think the comment section is data harvested managed by Google.

   The game giveaway team did post a comment that indicates they won't be using the same format as last weekend. At least not for normal game giveaways. They may still run game giveaways with a limited number of licenses, but this is different to the usual game giveaways. TRhose that win a license will own it forever, or at least for as long as Steam exists. As Steam has in the region of 70 million subscribers and at any one time at least six million people playing games, i dobt it will be any time soon. Even if they did close down the client many of the games are still playable without being online. I would expect Valve would create patches to allow community members to be able to play all of their games. If they didn;t the community would find a way to patch the games so that you could play them for as long as you wish.

   p.s.

   I've invested massivley in my Steam library (approaching £50 000). With over 7500 games many of which were purchased as pre orders; if Steam did ever close and it wasn't possible to play my games anymore I'd be gutted. I do have my favorite AAA's backed up, but wouldn't bother with many of the low budget indie games apart from my favorite genres (breakouts, shmups and tower defense)
