OK, I'm still waiting for a response from an email last week to FreeGamePick. Maybe someone can clue me into what my message means.
Originally, when I tried to download the game "Hidden on the Trail of the Ancients" it did a countdown of about 20 seconds and the just said there was an error connecting to the server and to try again later.
Now the message is "Error connecting to the server, this download is not available for your location. Please try again later." What do they mean by "this download is not available for your location?"
I've had a friend in another state try it with the same result. She hasn't seen the new message - I just found it a few hours ago.
The requirements for the game are: OS: Windows 7/ 8 CPU: 1.40 GHz RAM: 2024 MB DirectX: 9.0.
DirectX 9 is rather old. It makes no sense that it requires only 9 but yet a minimum of Windows 7!
It appears to be a rather new game to be seen in the freebie circuit -- earlier this year and after seeing more and more about it, I'm not sure I would keep it but after all this, I would at least like the download to run.
I'm getting more and more angry and upset with FreeGamePick. This is the second email that has gone totally unanswered and, unless they've been bought out and totally changed how they do things, the old install files you may have saved from a few years ago may give you a bit of a shock if you use them again. You may have an apparently clean install and then be unable to play the game unless you agree to install a toolbar! Same install file -- different installs. Now that's NASTY!
