I recently had to do a System Restore and it didn't solve my PC problem do I did a undo your last Restore.
Then I was trying to use one of the many video file converters to add videos and movies to my Apple ITouch Ipod and all of them now say that they aren't activated. Since I had never tried to use them before I am not sure where the problem occured. I did have successfully activated in the beginning however. All though some GAOD programs activation process is like stacking BBs while standing on your head. Why so hard!
Thanks
PS: if anyone can guide me towards an easy converter program to use with the Apple ITouch I would be very grateful. I don't have an Apple computer, just the IPod Touch.
Does doing a System Restore or undoing your last Restore undo your Activation?

I've never had it mess up my activation on anything including doing complete pc restore.
As long as the restore for the os is after that point in time were you installed it, it should be fine. Sounds like somehow your computer's fingerprint changed and that will cause problems with programs. I think it's irritating that companies use that method of verifying. The ip is a much better one and it has no effect on program reinstalls even if you format your drive and reinstall your OS.Company examples:
IOLO=IP
Adaware=fingerprint
Asquared=IP-I think, I have the same single user license on 3 computers,lol
Bitdefender=IP
Diskeeper=fingerprint-maybe different now 2007 version is fingerprintNot sure about the Ipod,sorry

If the restore point was made before the activation date, yes, you lose it.....
Sorry

lol, I hate when that happens. I usually end up typing something for a response and then my kid will want something or family, etc and by the time I get back 2 to 3 posts have been made.

Thanks all....I now know what I did wrong. I did a system restore and then undid it. Then I went back and undid my previous restore that was done in July :o( but at least it didn't mess up one of my favorite programs DVD Burner Plus or something like that.
I guess I will have to buy a program that will help me get videos and movies on my IPod.
Thanks again :o)

You can always run restore again and choose a point where you have the programs you want.
Then you can use them again and they should be activated.Posted 15 years ago # -
