   installed well and it looks like something i can really benefit from; however, having problem getting it registered. the lic # is just a long string of zero’s. GOTD website gave me the all clear screen but is running as an unlicensed copy. i have not had a problem installing programs offered by GOTD before - any suggestions?
   by the way, i did exit the program as instructed (several times over) before posting. Even reinstalled and still the same problem.

   Right click on the IntegryDESK icon in the system tray and 'Exit'. Then restart the program. From the system-tray icon - select "About..." the registered program should look like This.

   Where are you seeing a reference to an unregistered program?

   I am having problems too. I always print out the read me file. When I got to the part with the license, I tried to open it and it asked what I wanted to open it with? What am I doing wrong. When it brought up the choices, ItegryDesk was there, so I clicked on that. I am new at this sorta thing. When I checked out the about, says unregistered copy, please register. Can someone please explain in English for Dummies!

   sukibabe - the license file does not have a file extension so there is nothing to identify what program to open it with. This is why you get asked what you want to open it with. For the program to work, though, you do not need to open the license file at all. You only have to have it in the right place.
   The readme file says to move the license file into the directory where you installed the program. If you look in that directory you will see a file called license.txt. I have found that with the license file in the install directory I need to rename the license.txt file (eg license.txt.old) otherwise the program does not open for me. There is no need to enter any registration data directly.

   Make sure the program is closed and read below.

   X:\Program Files\IntegryDESK , X being your installation drive.

   Thats the folder you must copy the licence file to.

   It would have been simpler to just tell this Dummie, lol, to move the file!

   It didn't say move in the read me, it said copy.

   Thanks for the help, I got it in a round about way, reading into what you said.

   Now all is well and it is registered!

   Thanks too Lee! Now I understand the difference between copy and move.

   In the case of the Give aways, does it matter which one you do? As I save the original folder, not the zip one, the extracted one.

   On my Laptop I moved it, on my Desktop I copied it.

    Hello. I guess I am worse today than usual,(And, being computer illiterate doesn't help.) so I could use some help. Could someone please tell me in VERY simple terms how to move the license file to where it should be? I know there are some very nice, helpful, and knowledgeable people out there that can do this for me as I have been reading the comments and forums for a while now. Thank-you in advance.

    I'm not using this particular download,because other posts report that it does not play well with dual monitor setups, But the setup is fairly routine,this one differs a little then most.
    When you reply to my previous post ,I'll know how detailed to get with the instructions.I'll be around for about 2 hrs.

    OldandSlo, you're not by yourself; I'm not getting it either, and I don't consider myself as being computer illiterate, though I am certainly no Kim Komando (although my family sometimes thinks I am by some of the things they expect me, as the family computer 'tech', to accomplish.)...lol.

    scubaguy, I've got a dual monitor setup - it works ok - except the 'autohide' of the toolbar on the RHS of monitor 1, 'hides' to the LHS of monitor 2 (so autohide is not autohide at all). I just disabled that particular toolbar in the program options.

    To scubaguy Thanx for the comeback and sorry I missed you. I'm on dial-up. Here on the farm, satellite is the only alternative and it is very EXPENSIVE - equipment purchase as well as monthly fee) so I am only online for short periods. I can highlight, copy, and paste. I tried to do what was written previously, but seemed to get nowhere. Thanx again. To RosnSC I know too little to do things constructively, but just enough to cause big problems (be dangerous) and not know how to fix or prevent them. LOL

    OldandSlo.

    Using Windows Explorer - browse to where you extracted the contents of the downloaded giveaway zip file. There should be 3 files.

    Setup.exe
    Readme.txt
    License

    If you click or highlight the 'License' file - and press Ctrl-C (to Copy) then in Windows Explorer - browse to where you installed the Integrydesk program:

    C:\Program Files\IntegryDesk\

    (would be the default location)

    then press Ctrl-V (to Paste) the copied 'License' file from above into the install folder.

    If you are asked to replace existing files - say 'yes'

    Then 'exit' IntegryDesk from the System Tray icon (if it is running at the moment) then you can launch it again - and it should be running and registered.

    Thanks to all. Followed instructions, but never did get results. First time in the many DL's I've gotten here that there has been a problem. Oh well. Probably my ineptness. It's not an earthshaking event and no one got hurt from it, so I will survive to DL another day. (Maybe even today!) Thanks again.

    you could cheat- once installed just unzip the original gaotd download zip into the IntegryDesk install directory, that'd do it...
