I downloaded and installed this simple game yesterday with no problem on my Windows 7 machine. I was a little concerned with it claims to be a 77 MB download but the actual game installed is only about 13 MB! More suspicion when it zips to 846 KB (from 77 MB?????).
It had the "normal" accept the game and 3 declines of other software.
However, last night a friend tried to install it onto her Vista machine and got some odd message about something needing to be added before she even got TO the install (during preparing for installation phase).
This morning I decided to try it on MY Vista machine.
The install was NOT the same as I ran yesterday on Windows 7. This time I only had 3 steps and it skipped step 2. I accepted the game and it went to some little survey. I didn't fill it out but went on.
I found out later while running MalwareBytes that the it installed Premium Opinion and was considered both Adware and a Trojan. I revo-uninstalled it before telling MalwareBytes to quarantine it.
A subsequent run of MalwareBytes came out clean.
FreeGamePick is claiming they always have declines available and do not have malware. I was not given a decline or even a notice that it was installing it -- it just did it! They didn't even apologize for my problem, just denied any involvement!
Until they come clean and at least admit they have a problem, I recommend to steer clear of them. Who knows what else they may try to palm off on us!!!!
