This is just installation notes, particularly regarding the optional driver.
AV WebCam Morpher itself is a relatively light weight install, adding the program's folder, plus a Avnex folder that gets put in UserName\ Application Data [XP] or UserName\ AppData\ Roaming [Vista/7/8]. Besides an uninstall key, a Avnex key is also added to the registry [HKLM Software]. In the XP Mode VM where I recorded the installation the GOTD setup files did not exit normally -- I had to close one in Task Mgr, which brought up the usual GOTD message box.
Adding the driver however things get complicated. The driver itself [avwebcam.sys] is a Microsoft file, though it is un-signed. Adding it means adding several other files & registry entries setting Windows up for video capture -- monitored in XP Pro [Vista/7/8 should be close to the same] the driver install added 41 files & 1171 registry entries. Uninstalling AV WebCam Morpher leaves those in place. You have the option to install the driver during install or you can add it later on -- the drivers & setup files are stored in the program's folder in the Driver sub-folder.
Removing drivers is very often unpredictable -- if Windows tries to start a driver & can't, Windows may not load, so it's always a great idea to back up 1st before installing or removing any drivers. Many times a driver will be listed as a device in Device Mgr, & that's true for the AV WebCam Morpher driver -- it was listed as AV WebCam, WDM Video Capture. Double clicking, going to the Driver tab in the device properties, then uninstalling the device helped, but did not remove the driver entirely -- using Autoruns [Sysinternals at microsoft.com] I could uncheck the box next to the driver, so next time Windows started the driver would not -> after a restart I could delete the avwebcam.sys file... that did not delete the registry entry I'd just disabled in Autoruns, nor did it get rid of all the other entries & files installing the driver added -- to put everything back exactly as it was would require restoring a backup, though maybe restoring a Restore Point in win7/8 might work too.
