I can't argue with that. Maybe in hindsight I should have questioned it at the time. But here's my point: Every single day there are comments and questions about the activation process, registration messages, etc., so it's not unusual that these messages pop up. Since I had followed the activation instructions, I assumed that it was registered properly and that there would not be any problem. Now you seem to be saying that it was wrong to assume that following the instructions was sufficient.
I know, I know, you're probably thinking that I didn't follow the activation instructions. But if I remember right, that one was a simple "run activate" then "run setup." I believe I also got a message saying the activation was successful. It wasn't until the next day's startup that I got the registration message. But we know it was too late by then to do anything about it.
