   This webpage lists 46 categories of the "Best-Ever Freeware Utilities". (Their opinion, of course)

   I might make mention that there is a quite nice commentary accompanying each of the 48 categories which gives a quick background on their recommendations.

   I've grabbed quite a few gems from their index!

   NOTE: Keep in mind, I post sites like this one mostly for those times when you just want to go "window shopping". You know, when you're just in the mood to go browsing, with nothing particular in mind, and if you run across something that catches your attention, then you grab it. It's been said that you find the best things when you're not really looking for 'em!

   Nice commentary - but you forgot to actually post the site itself.

   I believe you are referring to Gizmo's list.

   Gizmo has one of the best Freeware newsletters available (IMO)

   Subscribe.

   There is also a Premium version of the newsletter that extends this list from 46 to 117. (And has full access to all past premium freeware newsletters etc).
