1. What OS are you running? (Vista, XP or something else)
2. How did you activate the programs? I was not asked for an email address for VideoIndexer.
1.) XP
2.) activate / install the porgramm / start the programm / activate / start the programm
Look to the comments at the offerpage (?), i'm not alone.
http://www.giveawayoftheday.com/fast-video-indexer/#comments
and in the german part of the forum, i posted a screenshot.
What do you see, if you start the programm two or three times?
Seems like this is a dud.
"Email"="Giveawayoftheday" <-- Seems this part is incorrect. Someone try suffix's such as @giveawayoftheday.com or @fastvideoindexer.com
"SerialA"="xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx"
"SerialB"="xxxx"
"SerialC"="xx"
I will try it again as soone as I edit the settings in the registry.
Neither work :P
Yep - there is definitely an issue. When you close the program for the first time - a registry key "FirstRun" is added which reverts the program back to unregistered status. If you delete this key - it will again be registered - but will again revert to trial next time the program is closed.
It looks like a bug in the actual program that will need to be fixed by Inzomia.
it will not work with this suffix. @giveawayoftheday.com i tried today morning and @giveaway.com but it do not work.
I have just emailed them and asked them to respond here, if they don't then I will check my emails in 30 minutes, but you must understand i have to be off soon to collect my children from their school a few miles away, so it's a 5 mile walk there and 5 mile walk back so could take 2 hours or so.
Thanks Lee
I can't register this software. What's wrong?
On my machine is not only generated the FirstRun key but are also added keys named TrialVersionA and TrialVersionB, with some values.
wiz011 - ignore those values - they do not relate at all to the problem that is occurring.
Are you sure? I think that the "FirstRun" key is related only to the Welcome screen. On the first run (or when this key is deleted or has the value "1") there is a welcome screen, after that upon every start of the program appears a registration reminder instead.
Why do you doubt me? I have already explained what is happenning - "FirstRun" is created only during the first program shutdown. If that key exists, On startup, the program displays the registration prompt.
This behavior doesn't change with the presence or absence of "TrialVersionA" and "TrialVersionB". Delete these if you must - it makes absolutely no difference at all.
Anyway, the GOTD team is waiting to hear from the program developers to supply a fix (This is quite clearly Beta software - still under development).
I received this.
Hi again
The program should work fine if you click the close button.
It is a bug that always displays the dialog during the 14 day trial
version, this is only the display of the dialog. After 14 days it will
disapear and everything should still be registered.
Kind regards
Fredrik Lönn
Hope that helps.
