Showed up today with a Win10 VM & worked as advertised -- the Win10 July optional update [out today] includes a fix for PCs/laptops where it doesn't work like it's supposed to. I had already turned on the backup option, so there was no fuss at all, though a quick reminder, if you use the same account on more than one device you probably want to limit what you backup to OneDrive... by default it will back up the Desktop, including all shortcuts, and sync them across devices. And if you delete those extra shortcuts on one device, they're gone on all of them, consigned to the OneDrive Recycle Bin. I had been anxious/curious wondering if the ESU offer would show up, since 1) it was a VM, 2) I had already applied a hack to receive all 3 years of ESU, & 3) the VM [PC] was Win11 hardware compliant.

You need to create an account with Microsoft Rewards and then search Bing, use Edge, buy stuff from Microsoft, etc, while logged into your account.

Where do you get reward points? Thanks.

Ed Bott [ZDNET] has 3 new articles that each may offer some useful info, including a screenshot of what the ESU option looks like and where it will be found when offered.

This notice is all over the web -- the link above has the only picture of the enablement wizard I've found. The year of security updates originally was going to cost $30, and you can still pay that if you want -- I've no idea why Microsoft left that option -- but it will be free if you backup your files to OneDrive or use 1000 reward points. So far I haven't found anyone walking through the steps, and while Insiders are supposed to have access today, it hasn't shown up in my Win10 Insider VM. It's supposed to go live for everyone in July.
