Hi all there's a free Dev demo of a city builder type game called Pioneers of Pagonia available to dl and play on Steam here Pioneers of Pagonia demo. The graphics are great lots of things to do in the demo leading up to completing the objectives. There is more than I map available to try out with varying difficulty.

And of course nice music to listen to.

The individual anims of the workers and building are really good. This is like a updated version of Settlers but with changes. I think the demo is for a limited time so grab it if you while you can it finishes on 16th Oct.

Sorry, I've been a little distracted of late, so have neglected this thread. I will update it occasionally. Most of the links should take you to the latest deals on those sites.

Sorry, not had much time to update this recently. I'm going to cut down on the links to individual deals as most come from several sources, so you can find what's on offer by going to their home page, for example, the Fanatical bundles. They usually have quite a few game bundles as well as applications, music and books. These are regularly changed, and new ones added, so it's best if you just go to the main page and see what's on offer. If I find anything outstanding (at least in my opinion), I'll mention it here and in the daily review that's current at the time. Same with the Humble Bundles as they often change as well.

I've been ill for the past few weeks, so I've not updated the above since the 30th June. Humble Bundle has some new bundles available as does Fanatical games. Epic games has changed to Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap and a $100 worth of items in the Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms Baeloth's Gladiators of the Black Pits Pack. The game was given away over a year ago with additional stuff. So you may already have the game tied to your account. To claim the pack you need to log in before next Thursday 21st July.

You can pick up loads of Capcom Arcade games for less than a dollar each at the moment. The arcade is free at the moment. You need the arcade to play any of the games you purchase.

The latest freebie from GOG is Flashback, which you'll find HERE. This ends 12noon Thursday 23rd June (UK time). The last freebie will go live Friday afternoon 24th June.

Please check Delenn's threads over in the giveaway forums HERE (non-Steam games) and HERE (Steam games) for the latest freebies. It's kept up to date frequently, (thanks for keeping this up to date Delenn, very much appreciated). There are a lot of sites that now offer free games such as TooMKY games, MyPlayCity games, Gametop, FreeGamePick and others. One of my favourite's that has been around for around twenty years is Caiman's Games, where you'll find thousands of freeware arcade games covering almost every genre I can think of. You can find Caimans games HERE. The site used to be updated every week, but since the founder of Caiman's, Rudy Versele's passing on the Feb 3rd 2010, it's been kept running, but not updated by a colleague of Rudy's. There's a wealth of freeware games that can be found on the site that are well worth checking out.

Steam Games:

For the latest Steam sales check THIS Steam database site out. You can list the games in order by clicking the headers 'price' & 'percentage off'. If you link SteamDB (the Steam database) with your Steam account, all games that you already have will be highlighted in green and those in blue are on your wish list. When there are Steam games being given away, you'll see the percentage off as 100%. It's worth checking this regularly to make sure you don't miss the best deals and freebies.

Any game that you get for free on Steam remains free, even if later the game is priced. Also, if you've purchased any game that is later removed from the Steam store, you will still always be able to download and play it via your Steam library despite it no longer being available via Steam; that is unless its one of those Massive Multiplayer Online games where the only access is via the developers servers and no single player elements are included. Once the developers no longer support these MMO's (Massive Multiplayer Online) game and close the servers down you can no longer access the game. (e.g. Defiance, Guardians of Ember, plus loads more).

Apparently the modders are working on being able to update the Steam version to the Unity version as well. I may add the Unity version to the Free games project sometime soon as I bought the original when it was released in the mid nineties but the Unity upgrade as made the game look so much better. I was working on a tutorial for this (with the intention of posting it in the free Game Project ) when I got a BSOD and lost all the work I'd done; I'd stupidly neglected to save my progress (over 3 hours of effort)

Indie Gala:
Don't forget to check Indie Gala's freebie section HERE, then click on the Showcase header, selecting freebies from the drop down menu; new titles are added frequently and some are removed.

To find your games go to your account and from the drop down menu select 'My Library'. When the page opens find the 'Showcase' button in the banner along the top of the page and, from the drop down menu select 'Showcase'. There are only 8 games per page, so, if like me you have added hundreds to your account/library. Each page from your free list can take 30 or more seconds to move to the next page so it can take a good twenty minutes to get to the last page depending on how many of the free games you've claimed.

CD Keys:
Another decent site that you should check out regularly is CD Keys HERE. They usually have some very good discounts on top notch AAA games for all the popular platforms (PC, PSN, Xbox, Nintendo), sometimes as much as 99% off; for example I got STAR WARS™: Squadrons earlier this year with a 99% discount for only £0.39 (usual price is £39.99).

Be sure to check that keys from the site are redeemable in whichever country you live in (it details where it can be redeemed) as prices and the ability to redeem keys in particular countries may differ. I've quoted prices from the UK pages of CD keys.

The best Indie Bundles sites that have been operating from around 2010 are the Humble Bundle and Indie Gala sites (though the latter isn't as good as it used to be, with most of the bundles containing cheap stocking fillers and a lot of 'adult only 'hentai like ' games). The Humble site is, in my opinion, the best; though a more recent addition that is worth checking out called Fanatical games, that used to be called Bundle Stars, looks to be a serious contender for that title as they have several bundles live at any one time, with a variety of genre dedicated bundles. Again, this site is well worth checking frequently/ Some bundles are all or nothing, others are divided into selecting from 1 to several games from the bundle. Often a single game from one of these bundles will cost you as little as $0.99.

I've restarted a project I originally started back in 2008 that used to be called Good Games to Grab, where I and other community members posted free games over in the forums on a daily basis; however, I won't be posting them daily this time, only as and when I have time and the inclination.
