Great little prog. I actually shelled out the money and bought this when it was offered in 2019. The ability to have a relatively large (256x256), unobscured pic of a folder's contents as an icon was exactly what I was after.
A question for the devs, and a couple suggestions:
Does the size of the original picture used for the icon (1080x1080 for example vs 256x256) affect the amount of memory used by FolderIco?
Suggestion1- Having the option to look for the pic in either the previous folder as it is now, or by default to the folder being modified would save enormous amounts of navigation time when I've got 250-300 3d models to identify.
Suggestion 2- Since almost every time I use FolderIco it's to add a picture, having the option to open directly to to the 'choose icon' screen (or simply default to the previous option chosen) from the right click context menu would save just that much more time.
Again, excellent software. Totally worth the money spent.

Have this from a previous giveaway. Installed fine on windows 7 64bit. I only use it to change the colour of the folder. Never had a problem.

Installed perfectly over my former installation after it somehow got corrupted. I'm so glad to have it back after having used it for quite some time now. It's a very useful function to have. They also have a large library of icons you can download. http://links.giveawayoftheday.com/s/folderico.com/icon-libraries.html

Not sure how this can be more helpful than a Folder Icon Creator and Assignment app. What I have lets me chosse an image from my own gallery on my PC, and turn it into an Icon (.ico). It then allows me to assign the icon to any folder, thereby changing its normal look to the new icon. Of course, to be comprehensive, it is best to make the icon look like something that indicates the type of it's contained files.
If all this app does is change the folder color, it is of no use to me. Colors may be good if you are only using a few colors, and your PC does not have a lot of different types of files stored in the folders.
I micro-organize everything on my PC, which means multiple folders. I group my apps with others of the same type (digital art with digital art apps, etc.). Any folders that don't have an icon other than the standard yellow will get an icon custom made by me, for use only on my PC. I do not offer my Icons to others, as they only mean something to me personally.
I am not saying this is not a good app, only that I have no use for it.

Already have 6.2.1 dated 8-3-20 and echo the others that this is a nice little program. It's proven handier than expected.

I have version 5.1 of 12.01.2017. Should I replace it with version 6.2.1? Why? And how? My old version works perfectly.

WKKos, If you did not want to read the readme.txt file included chances are you may not read this response.

1) Run the setup file.
2) After that run the activator file.
