I like to mark my most used folders with an appropriate special Icon as it makes the folder easier to locate. Thank you Teorex and GOTD.

What's new in 5.1? Doesn't look like anything has changed.

Installed in a Win10Pro x64.
There are two ways to change the icon of a map.
1. start the program and search for the folder.
2. in the Explorer right click on the folder, you want to change:

I changed a few:

and put it together in a zip, without any passwords.
The colours should be the same in your Windows

Ootje,
Thanks for your efforts -- your images and examples speak volumes about the offered titles.
Without yet having FolderIco installed, I downloaded your ZIP file, opened it and the example sub-folders appeared as the usual/ordinary plain manila/buff-colored folders.
Then I thought to extract the parent folder from within your ZIP file and -- voila! -- the sub-folders appeared with your customizations -- nice!
My next step is to install FolderIco as so far I have not been disappointed by software titles from TeoreX...

Ootje (continued)
I should have written "...thought to extract the parent folder from within your ZIP file to the desktop and...", meaning that once the folders that were within the ZIP file were copied to the "outside" as stand-alone folders, their custom icons started working -- they transferred from Ootje's machine to mine.
Anyway, I did install it and it works great. It loads into memory only when activated (new choices on the right-click context menu for a folder) and unloads from memory when finished.
You can make custom folder icons from PNG files, or customize FolderIco itself per the tutorials:
https://www.folderico.com/tutorials.html?v=5
Also, there are an additional 36 libraries for a wide variety of categories that can be downloaded (as ZIP files) from the FolderIco web site. Each one contains many more icons (some in the hundreds):
https://www.folderico.com/icon-libraries.html
(However, it would have been convenient to also have a single "master" ZIP file containing all the libraries to download versus only the individual libraries.)
This is very nice -- thank you, TeoreX!

I just upgraded from an earlier Version of FolderIco, Version 4.0. The GUI has been improved and i can definitely recommend it. I am using FolderIco to sort my favourite rail routes in the Rail Simulator Zusi 2. The good ones get a green, the fair ones a blue and the boring routes get a red folder icon on my system. ;) I can browse the routes and see the colours of these folders right where i need it. From inside the rail simulator. This is just an example of use.
There are many other benefits, if you boot into your dualboot or your WindowsPE USB-Live-Stick, you will see the icons you have set before on another system, it works on other machines, if you connect your hard drive over there. This program is awesome and it just works!

I was wondering, is this the same as another software called "Folder Marker"? It's look very similar, although based on the pictures alone "Folder Marker" appears to have a few more icons.
