Have it as a giveaway from 12/2022. The way FOCUS projects 4 Pro is generally used is with Macro photography, usually with the camera mounted to a manual or motorized track -- P/Shop has something similar but it's not such a dedicated tool. The way it works is you focus on the closest point of your subject, take a shot, then move the camera a tiny amount closer to the subject, and without refocusing take another shot & so on. What you're doing is essentially taking perfectly focused photos of slices of the image, which will be stacked, sort of reassembled in the software. Pros who specialize in this method often have a motorized, automated track that moves the camera forward, takes the shot, & repeats this maybe dozens of times.
To take Macro photos, which are extreme / magnified closeups, you generally want a camera with interchangeable lenses. You can buy magnifying adapters that attach to removable or fixed lenses that will work, but with less quality than a dedicated Macro lens -- the quality of the shots with one of these adapters varies with the make/model & usually price paid. You can also use extension tubes that mount between the camera & lens, & adapters to reverse the lens, mounting it backwards on the camera. eBay is a good place to look for the interchangeable parts to built a track setup that will mount to a tripod -- you'll find different lengths of standardized diameter tubes, adapters to mount those to a tripod mount, geared sliding camera mounts that mount onto 2 parallel tubes that themselves can slide back & forth on those tubes etc. The automated setups are AFAIK usually DIY projects using Arduino.

Franzis software is always worth checking out. For any of you who like macro photography and / or architectural / real estate photography this program will come in handy for your focus bracketing projects.
Photoshop can stack, merge and auto blend focus bracket images. Lightroom can do it too, but Focus projects gives you a lot more control on your output options. It has dozens of options to tweak.
Today´s version is the pro version so you do get access to the raw module in order to tweak RAW settings like exposure, sharpening, color balance, barrel / pillow distortion compensation and even weighting of your RAW images.
On the subject of RAW images, franzis software unfortunately comes bundled with an outdated version of freeimag.dll. This is the windows library, which provides the info on how to open and handle RAW images from hundreds of cameras. One of these website´s users always mentions this about franzis software, so I have followed his advice and I always replace freeimage.dll with a fresh copy.
You can download the library from this link:
https://freeimage.sourceforge.io/download.html
freeimage.dll sits on the root directory of the default installation path where the main program .exe sits. Replace it with the one you just downloaded.
Focus projects is also bundled with a lightroom classic plugin so you can send your processed focus bracket straight into lightroom with a single click.
I have been testing this program for a couple of hours and I have gotten great results with the following workflow:
1. Load focus bracket into Focus projects. Tweak RAW settings.
2. Export to lightroom. Apply presets and masking if necessary.
3. Export from lightroom and load into Topaz Denoise for images which need denoising ( macro photography images often do. )
Thank you for offering this fine program today.
Focus bracket away!

Extras-Reset-Calculation settings
Results in program shutdown error
(Running Windows 8.1, I don't have a compatible version of Photoshop or Lightroom)
Clicking Extras-Settings results in a box opening that's
larger than the screen, no way to resize or move it or
close it short of tabbing to the OK/CANCEL box
because it's behind the taskbar.
"Bildsequenz mit 2 Bild(ern)" Whatever box this is that popped up
(add image layer caused it?), I can't get rid of it.
The link to get an activation code is in the readme file, send them an email address and they send you the code.
*To Phil, it's more than just a sharpening tool, that's just one aspect that I though it can do well.
Thanks Franzis Gerlag GmbH and the GAOTD team

Hello. Does Focus P4 Pro require several images of the same subject to work? Does the software work with just one image? Thanks.

Phil, It will work with just one image, like a sharpening tool, I just tested it but I don't have the photoshop and lightroom versions it takes advantage of, still worked decently during my test, worth getting imo

My usual comment. Franzis software is always worthwhile to get even with the refrigeration steps required the first time you download one.
