One thing to check with some software is which mode it's using to do the graphics. There are two basic 3D driver modes, DirectX and OpenGL.

Some systems will run a game in either mode fine, some need to be forced to one or the other.

I am not sure what this software offers for options, but try looking for an option to switch modes between DirectX and OpenGL.

I was really looking forward to this one in spite of his huge size--I love pinball--but no matter how many times I downloaded it and tried to install it, it was a no go. Boo Hoo

YOU NEED A DX9-based Graphics card for god sake for the people out there sayin' that this game is crap because it's so laggy. Especially comment 8. I bet he has a GeForce FX (5) card. Your specs are good enough even if the Pentium 4 is already old. But having a DX8 card with DirectX 9 installed is not good enough. IT NEEDS HARDWARE PERFORMANCE/CAPABILITY not just having DX9 installed.

Played the game at 1280x1024 with Anti-Alias 2x. Game was smooth and enjoying.
Pentium 4 2.4A
AGP8x Radeon 9600 Pro EZ 256mb 128bit (An entry level DX9 card)
768mb DDR400 @ DDR333

Thanks for the alternative software site. I have at least two items downloaded from this site or the game giveaway site and though I'm pretty sure I installed and activated, I can only find the setup file now.

Ball movement is unrealistically slow, probably a garbage hack to cover the monster flipper lag.

Not worth the download.

I run a fairly high end machine and didn't have lags _except_ when I try using the gamepad to control flippers. One strange artifact of this game is that when the gamepad is used, the flippers have a very large lag. Switching to using the keyboard was the workaround for me.

Also I notice this particular table is very dependent on one's ability to HIT THE TABLE... with other pinball games I left the tilt controls alone but on this game I'm pretty much forced to learn tilt otherwise the ball goes for the exits like magnets. Perhaps that's intentional and maybe a good thing for those who like a challenge.

For those who do not like the camera following the ball you can easily switch camera view so the camera shows the whole table... Why people couldn't even take a few seconds to look at the instructions is beyond me.

No to bad of a game. It does get kind of laggy at higher ends but it worked just fine at 640x480 with XP pro and 2.0 Ghz Intel Pentium processor. My system is pretty optimized so I didn't have any problems at all playing. Also have 128meg video card (Nvidia) and 2 gigs of memory. Maybe some of the users having problems with the high end machines may result in if they are using dual core systems. I know heavy intense games have issues with those lately.

Hmm. I'll check this out, see if it comes up to snuff on my athlon xp-

If it drags, I gotta agree with 29 and 32, go gray and google for PinMAME and VPinMAME.

Although the Ultra Pinball series was interesting, instead of slanting a standard table they made short, wide tables for full screen. I gotta find who put them out.

Getting the tables is hard on the cheap, but hey, you can pick and choose.... (hey, my original black knight is in storage, but I can play it here anyway)

If you have an old arcade game you pine for, take a look at MAME. Most of the 6000+ variants (the elder most, sorta) can be played on a 1-ghz system. Windows users Mame32 works neat.

This Game is a scam!! I downloaded and installed just fine, when I went to play I recieved an error box that told me i needed to download an Idigo vido driver, I went to the web-site that they said I could download from and the driver was at a cost of $14.95, Ok thats not cool, sell a game for $9.95 and have to buy a driver to play it for $14.95 Hmmmmmmmm.

My advice is don't waste your time on downloading this program!

Thanks anyways GAOTD keep it coming.

No problems loading or playing it on my modern Windows Vista PC, but the game is nothing special. Annoying soundtrack of grating industrial sounds. Some of the action on the pinball table is hidden, because it takes place in chambers where you cannot really see what is happening...and then the ball comes rocketing out. Played in "Easy" mode and could find no way to change mode. The game is free, but is disappointing and I doubt you will play it very often. I may try again - or maybe not - and just delete it from my PC.

Was running very very slow on my other computer which is a p4 2ghz have had to run it on my new dual core to make it run without hicups. all out of all i give it 2/10. try again people !:)

Sorry, but I have to agree with a lot of the other posts,
although the game downloaded etc. perfectly, there is a problem with the flipper response. This game is frustrating, you have to predict when the ball is going to hit the flipper - Uninstalled.

The edge of the game board seems designed to send the ball from the bumpers into the side lanes more often than not. In my 9 attempted balls, only once did I get to hit the ball with the flipper more than 4 times, the rest it went down like that, even though there are guards that kick the ball back up once per side.

I apparently have a better computer than some who have posted, as I did not notice any lag on the flippers. Or maybe it was just that the ball was near my flippers so rarely, again.

The music is repetitive and poor, or at the least not to my taste. All in all, this game falls badly short of Merscom's usual quality. It's not worth 10 dollars and probably not 10 minutes either. Thumbs down.

Works on Vista in compatibility mode. If you don't know how to use it after installing the game right click on the shortcut to the game click properties then the compatibility tab then check the box. You might also need to change the setting in program files where the game installed to give you write permission. Find the folder fastlane in program files right click properties then the security tab then edit then choose users then check the box for full control click ok twice then it should work. I am not certain if the file permission are needed for this game didn't test it too thoroughly, but I have gotten several games and programs that are not called compatible with vista and still didn't work with compatibility mode to work just fine.

I even power my computer using a formula 2 race car....no wait formula 3...and it takes that huge engine just to power my monster machine...and then if you dont wear a special suit, the heat from the processer will melt yo face instantly and you wil dii

The ball moved to slow like wow....

Ran this on an Athlon X2 3800 with an X800 GTO2 video card on Windows XP. Ran completely smoothly at 1280x1024 and FSAA with no problems at all. The pinball table isn't exotic or feature-laden, but it was still pretty fun. It has the option to submit your high score to the internet; it asks for your email address if you do this. I wish it didn't have this option - I did not enjoy realizing that my personal high score was way, way less than the current Internet high score of 158 million points. :-) I moved further north not too long ago, but for a few minutes playing this is was like I was back at the Jersey shore boardwalk again! Nice work.

The only caveat is if you have certain XP accessibility features turned on. While playing the game, XP popped up a notice that pressing the shift key five times turns on "sticky keys" (my eating habits often lead to sticky keys as well, but that's something else entirely). This feature lets you press keys one at a time to activate a key combination (say, Control and "A") rather than hold down keys. The pop-up dialog gave the option of activating the feature, cancelling sticky keys, or going to a settings screen to turn the feature off permanently (which you probably want to do if you never knew it was even there in the first place). Just a heads up for those whose XP has accessibility features turned on.

OK, it installed and runs w/o problems on my anemic system (XP,Celeron, integrated video,512K ram). Same lag in flipper response as noted by others, and the constantly shifting perspective will drive you nuts trying to keep track of where the hell the ball is. All in all, one of the lesser pinball programs out there, and for me, probably not a keeper. Worth a try, cuz,as they say, YMMV.....
