How do I stop this programme always running in the background? I have unticked the "start application at startup" box.

In terms of it's speed of download it does a generally good job.

There is no real integration to browsers like the king of downloaders does.

There is also no option to set a variety of preferred download bitrates.

Carrying out a simple comparison with ANT Download Manager, a typical 720p download was 3 times larger using Fast than it is using ANT. This is reflected in ANT using a much lower bitrate by default, which explains the difference.

But a smaller file will be a faster download and at least from my experience I am happy with the quality of the lower bitrate, so having some options to choose from would be useful.

But if there is one out and out killer for this application, it is the price. For what is really a one trick pony it is easily more than 3 times the price that it's real value would show.

You do not have to use their propriety player. Look for where the files are downloaded to (near the bottom right of the main screen). You can open the files with your choice of player, such as VLC, or any other as long as the file type you download is supported or converted to a format the player can display (such as mp4).

You don't have to install the suggested player to start getting ads; they show up anyway. I've never downloaded their player and I can certify that the ads come regardless.

What I do not like about this offer is that the installer has to resort to trickery to get you to install other programs of theirs. For example, the second screen has a square already checked to Install Fast Screen Recorder. It isn't clear why there is a suggestion to install a screen recorder when Fast Video Downloader claims to have the ability to record the screen. I say, "claim" because when I tried it, it appeared to work but when I ended the recording step, a dialog shows up asking "Please Wait" and "Recorded Video is Saving" but the progress bar gets close to the 95-100% but never finishes. After 20 minutes, when I attempted to close the dialog, another dialog was displayed informing me "This recording will not be saved, are you sure you want to close." I clicked Yes to allow the saving dialog to close, but it still didn't close. Using the taskbar, I was able to close the recording dialog. There was no file saved in the location set in the settings, so no telling where it was trying to save a video. I conclude this video downloader has issues with part of its claimed abilities.

Another irritant is that this company feels it is imperative to tack the date-time onto the downloaded file.

Have a previous version from a previous giveaway. It doesn't seem to have the conversion abilities of this version but it was fast. It also doesn't seem to have some of the limitations others have complained about on this version. Anyway, the registration code for this version allowed me to renew my license on the previous version for another year.

PS. Creators of Fast Video Downloader. I liked your product and would probably have purchased a renewal license if I had enough spare time to download and watch more than a few videos in a year. Unfortunately, I am not so blessed.

For there all in one bundle it's $259.99 and will 100% in full quality, get all your favorite streaming video sites. Amazon Prime, Netflix, HBO Max, Disney+ and all others. I have not purchased this yet but i have used the trial. It's more than worth it and I will be getting it as soon as I can.

Has anyone actually received their registration info after going to the link and entering your email? I've tried two different email addresses and after more than 5 hours, nothing in the inbox or spam.

It's a very limited version according to the pop-up after installation. It wants you to upgrade to the full version to eliminate this limitation, and that's $30. It appears to work, but it definitely does not live up to the FAST in the name.

The pop-up says that you can only record 2 minutes, but that appears to be in the screen recorder part of the program. I'll be uninstalling it shortly. These giveaways should tell us ahead of time about these things, so we don't have to even bother with trying them.

The pop-ups advertising their software full versions are very annoying. They pop up from your notifications in the lower right corner of your screen. They are SO annoying that I am uninstalling the program.

Constantly on the search for YouTube down-loaders but unfortunately, this one appears incapable of that. Others available here have worked short-term and were lifetime but became unusable after site security changes which then required buying an upgrade.

Warning! The author states that if you purchased this application and use the registration code from GOTD, that the remaining days on your paid license will be *added* to the GOTD license. This is incorrect information and I have personally tested this with a paid license code. The registration process with OVERWRITE your existing license with a new license and not add days to it.

The GOTD license is 366 days and the app does not exceed this no matter what license code you enter. To be clear, you cannot combine the license code although the author states you can.

Be sure you understand this if you plan on purchasing a license from the author to extend the GOTD license.

Can not do anything it says
• "Download Unlimited Videos and playlists from 1000+ video sites." ... Any sites I clicked on took me to a page offering another download program
• "Download Live Stream videos." ....... I couldn't do this
• "Screen Recorder with microphone and system audio setting."............ Looking for more money for this option
It will download a YouTube video . Big deal!! Lots of free down-loaders do that.

I've tried this one in the past but got tired of there pop up ads. i uninstalled it recently.

The e-mail with the Registration Key is taking forever to send. It's been over 30 minutes now and have not received it yet.

Well few things.... There site shows that you can download video streams from all the latest video streaming places.... like Break.com..... and collagehumor.... etc... well they are not even in existence any more... in fact i think Break went out in like 2016? Now I'm always looking for the diamond in the rough.... so i want to see what else this thing has to offer.... but i guess nothing.... they will not send me a link to register so.... see yeah... good luck back in 2016.

I am having an issue recently with GAOTD downloads (including this one). When I run the exe file it says "a required privilege is not held by the client." I have tried installing as an administrator and switching off anti-virus but to no avail. I am running Windows 10 64bit. The Windows compatability troubleshooter says the program is not compatible with Windows 10 but surely that cannot be right?
It seems to mainly be programs from here.
Can the owners of Fast Video Downloader or anyone else offer suggestions as all the ones I have seen on searching Google involve registry changes and I'm not up for that.

The downloadable version is very limited (e.g., no format conversions, screen recording up to 2 minutes, ...) with respect to the description above, which applies to the full version (to be paid).
Even for the free version, it would be respectful to provide a convenient description.

I don't understand that automatic updates are essential.
Also, when I try to update, the security software shows "Infected with malware"
