I Love this program! It keeps telling me wrong email & its the email I use with GOTD always,,,I want to enter....please help GOTD :-) I really want this program

Rena, I also have same problem, tells me incorrect email, even though it worked ok 100's of times before. Emailed GOTD and they replied they will look into it. That was 10 days or more ago, still nothing yet!!

It has proven to be the 2nd. best program in this category (a close 2nd., after TubeDigger), with some very good features like an automatic setting to go after the best resolution version of your target video that is available at the hosting site. That feature does not always work, but it's good to have it there. There is no single video downloader that works everywhere, so it is good to have options. The one notable downside to FVD is its often annoying version-self-updating behavior that can bring things to a temporary halt when you boot up. The settings checkbox that would supposedly allow you to override this is greyed out -- at least in the promo edition. But, all things considered, I'd say this is a definite Thumbs Up. The promo edition has consistently been valid for 1 year . . . but another promo typically comes along by then.

How do you get it out of the start menu, so it doesn't come on when i start my laptop? but working when you want it to?

Edward, Open Settings. In setting dialogue there is checkbox "Start application at startup". Uncheck that checkbox and click on save button. Now it will not start at startup.

Fast PC Tools,
I've had "Start application at startup" unchecked since I installed the program and it never starts at startup. However, after one of the updates in 2020 the program began starting itself a long while after the startup and after waking up from hibernation (the latter should not happen even if it were allowed to run at startup). I suspect it happens after every check for updates, even where there are no updates available. It would be nice if you removed this annoying behavior.

I scoured their website. When clicking "purchase" there is no option choice to purchase a "lifetime" or "subscription" so, it's likely always a subscription.

From http://fastpctools.com/fvd/ it says:
"Subscription - If you have purchased a Subscription plan of our "Fast Video Downloader", your subscription period will start from the day of purchase. Before the end of the Subscription period, you will be offered the choice to extend your Subscription automatically for successive time periods."
