Tools like ExtremeCopy Pro and FastCopy really do work a bit faster than Windows on the same hardware when copying lots of small files. For bigger files there's no major difference.
The issue with ExtremeCopy is it's not had a single update in over 3 1/2 years, so at this point I would say it has been pretty much abandoned.

Given the number/size of files people typically copy, the benefits are marginal at best. https://www.raymond.cc/blog/12-file-copy-software-tested-for-fastest-transfer-speed/2/

Well, well, well. Just another miraculous applet.
It is well known that read/write speed depends mostly on hardware/drivers and OS not in the applet you are using to move/copy files. If you wish more speed then buy faster hardware/drivers and/or ask Microsoft to improve the Windows read/write functions. Another option is to tweak the disks properties as "Enable write caching" (which by the way is already on in Windows 10) and "Enable advanced performance" (not recommended in a computer without UPS or batteries). Anything else is just an illusion. If you're happy buying illusions go ahead and install miraculous applets to improve your computer's read/write speed.

Luis, Based on my experience you are totally right. Win 10 does not need an applet because it is already tweaked as much as any OS or software permits. Thus, "there lies no bottle neck" in the software and the speed is only gained by faster hardware.
Just FYI to anyone that may wonder what a fairly inexpensive upgrade would be to really enhance performance for such issues like file management would be upgrading from a mechanical hdd to a digital hdd. Little cost and pretty effective based on my experience.
