Why does it install and run Everything in the background?

It asked to install PhotoMax, which I did, and that stays memory resident, too.

I gave up, finding it unmanageable to have it keep tabs on my file explorer, as the day wore on, I just wanted to explore something, and there were all these tabs, so I closed them and wondered why I had so many, when I can't do anything between them, like drag and drop, instead, they are like separate web pages, unrelated to each other.

So I uninstalled it.

Seems like the key page doesn't load still. It always redirects to this page. Tried multiple browsers and even after deleting cache this page is loaded.

The new explorer looks good and different. Dual mode is something to explore and nice to have.
Seems like with few hrs left, I am stuck with the trial only mode.

Once installed the program "takes over" control from Windows File Explorer. It it did not prompt to do this. It also crashes when opening after clicking "Windows File Explorer".

The dark "theme" seems to be only for the ribbon, the file panes stay white.

Buggy. After viewing a video I try to close the video and rename the file. ExplorerMax attempts to rename the file then locks up in never never land. Restarted, tried different files - the lockup is the same. That behavior makes the program unusable.

This is really a one-trick pony, putting our existing Microsoft Windows File Explorer into tabs, that's it.

That's it.

Really.

No other features.

That's okay, but don't compare this to Explorer replacers, this does NOT replace Explorer, it merely tabs our existing Explorer.

But I tried the download directly from the vendor, then, immediately on the first run, a pop-up said "expired, buy me", I closed the "expired, buy me" pop-up, and started using the program, so maybe it's a forever nag, not an expiring trial.

The "expired" version promises to NOT have all the paid-for features, but fails to identify what features one gets during any paid-for subscription period other than the elimination of a nag.

Others may confirm if it's a forever nag, not an expiring trial, and what features are missing in the nag version.

For example, Bitsum Process Lasso uses the forever nag scheme, and also -s-l-o-w-l-y- deprecates certain used features, instead of refusing to run altogether - it's a way of acknowledging that some people may take a -l-o-n-g- time to decide to buy, if ever, and while the vendor waits, the vendor can block out their competition at least, at no real expense to themselves, and then be first in line if and when the user does decide.

Performance and behavior wise, this program, ExplorerMax 2.0.2.18, is definitely in v2 state, a long way to go to compare with Microsoft's own v5 let alone Microsoft's current v10.

But, considering it's just a tabber, NOT an Explorer-replacement, what SHOULD we expect it to do?

TWIN PANE TWIN PANELS WITH TWIN TREES AND TWIN FILE-PANELS.

When do we get it?

NOT HERE.

And more, and less, for example,
- I could NOT find an easy way to cause two panes to show the directories I wanted to see side by side,
- there was no twin-pane tree available,
- toggling the view resets the twin pane settings such that carefully sized panels get reset to defaults,
- it grabs Microsoft Windows File Explorer as a tab, so there's no way to open Microsoft Windows File Explorer separately ( drag one off as a free-floating separate tab ),
- the dual pane view makes a new default base tab, it does NOT add a pane to the current carefully selected view,
- I see no way to take 2 tabs and automatically make them into a dual pane,
- there are no enhanced tools, so we still need other tools anyway, like 7-zip, VurusTotal uploader, Resource Hacker, and so on,
- double clicking closes things - this s a default, really?!? ( we can turn it off ).

It offers to install their own Photo Max, which is a non-integrated separate program that is a fast image finder and browser, though, like Explorer Max, it is otherwise featureless compared to the competition, such as free Google Picasa.

This program does not show PSD file format like an image into collection of files. The free Frecommander does it with no problems. The program will be deleted.

Terrific fun to play with but I also had no idea what I was doing. I did manage to create an abstraction I like but I doubt I'd be able to repeat it.

Turning preview up to max slowed down this 9900k i9 processor equipped machine more than any other program I've tried. it's a bear.

When I try to access the registration page I arrive at this page with no place to register. What am I doing wrong?

Overall, the program is good in design and function. Only one disadvantage is it can't work as like the default window explorer do when with autohide taskbar on. Does there a way to do that in the setting?

It seems to o a reasonable job but there is one feature of Windows Explorer ( and all the variants on the market) in general that I feel is very weak, the inability to customise the ribbon bar more.

I would love to be able to add some features that I have in the context bar when I right click in an object to select a particular action that has been added by a third party program.
