Hello GAOTD! I'm the developer of EdgeTile Creators.
I really hope you'll enjoy this new tile experience on Windows 10. It's been developed by you thanks to all the feedbacks received with the old version of EdgeTile.
Please keep in mind that this is a UWP Desktop Bridge app and hence it will support only the Desktop Family (x86, x64 and next Win10 on ARM).

The MS store page: ' https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/store/p/edgetile-creators/9n3mgs2xcpr1 ' There is no help. Screenshots only show pages full of tiles (colossal waste of time and space). @GaryF said easy to use: maybe if your a programmer (or young!). Took a while to figure out how to make and pin a tile for a file. Doesn't work any better than my current task bar shortcut. Can't figure out how to change a tile - just deleted and started over. If they aren't pined to start, I don't know where they are. Didn't need headset (what's that about?). I put a pic of my cat on a spreadsheet file. It works fine.
If you love tiles - especially with Start in full screen (and you can figure it out on your own) you'll like this app.

It's free today on the Microsoft Store at https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/store/p/edgetile-creators/9n3mgs2xcpr1
However, EdgeTile does not supply an uninstaller and I don't see an easy way to uninstall it.

Would love to try this but since I can't get the October Win 10 update to make it to completion, I can't download this app. The Get box is grayed out. Bummer!

Bob, Thanks. I've tried forcing it but not with admin privilege. I'll give it a try.

FrayedKnotArts, These tiles are the squares in the Windows 10 menus. It allows us to use them to create various actions in Windows 10. I had to look it up, because I use Start Menu X, myself. ;)

Rick_S, I USE CLASSIC START MENU MYSELF. NOT ONCE HAS IT GIVEN ME A PROBLEM EVEN WHEN MICROSOFT ISN'T ALWAYS COMPATIBLE WITH ITSELF.

Why is the headset a requirement?

The link provided on GOTD is bad. The app is available for free on the Microsoft Store at
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/store/p/edgetile-creators/9n3mgs2xcpr1#.
The app installs quickly on latest Windows 10 build and is easy to use. Not much more to say than it works as described. For me, it is a keeper.

Now that it's free I installed EdgeTile Creators 1.2 just to see how it works. No surprise at all. For me it is just the same childish nonsense. I use the startup "Classic Shell" and in my desktop I have folders for System, Graphics,Sound, Docs etc. with shortcuts to run the applications I need. Easier, simplest and have everything I need at hand.

I use a lot of tiles in my start screen, so I must make them small and all my folder tiles look the same, with their name showing only when I hover over them, which is not very convenient. My solution is to customize directly in the explorer the folders I want to show in the start screen, their tiles reproducing this customization. (For that purpose, my favorite software is icomancer, which I discovered here and of which I bought a licence.)
With this app' I won't even have to do that, and will be able to customize the tiles directly. It really addresses a need for many.
Some instructions would have helped, as my mind doesn't seem to be as agile as Tim's: took me a lot of time to figure out how to create my first tile. Or maybe it's just the end of the year...
Merry Christmas to all freebie diggers!

After some efforts it works as described. Not as easy and somewhat buggy.

The "Homepage" link is dead
This program is offered through the Microsoft Store for $3.99
Downloaded and installed on my Windows 10 machine without any problems.
~~~~~
I played with this program a bit and I really like it.
It will create a TILE out of an image of your choice.
The TILE will be created in four sizes: Large, Wide, Medium & Small.
The TILE can be assigned to a program or an URL.
I like the image covers the entire TILE and is not simply a smaller image in the center of the TILE like the default.
~~~~~
I think I'm going to keep it and rework all of my tiles on my start page.
Thanks GAOTD!
