#6 blea101 Couple questions: 1) did you install and try any of these programs? 2) Did you down vote any of these apps without trying?

I also have no interest in another recovery program .. how there are so many is amazing! BUT that hardly is a review of or fair to the current developer!

"One boring screen saver" How long did you run it? I love it that you! (Sad, the "blind" voting! Maybe you could make one more exciting and as beautiful! Please just evaluate the current offering and only after installing and giving it an honest trial else .. don't waste my/our time! `

#6 bleah: I think GAOTD doesn't/can't simply offer whatever it chooses to; rather, software vendors decide whether to offer a freebie on GAOTD or not.

If you installed MunSoft Data Recovery Suite a couple months ago, you do not need to install today's giveaway because it is a part of that suite, and, as I have noticed, it is the same version.

Cheers,

I.M.

It is a good giveaway for photographers. But I will wait for the data recovery software giveaway like EaseUS. Currently I am using Orion file recovery software and it is working great.

By the way here are some alternatives

1) MjM Photo Recovery : http://www.snapfiles.com/get/mjmphotorecovery.html

2) Recuva : http://www.piriform.com/recuva

3) Orion File Recovery Software : http://www.nchsoftware.com/data-recovery/

I have never seen the point in these products specialising in just a few formats.

Data is data and if you offer a recovery service, make it something that looks for everything but allows the user the option to specify a particular file type.

Recovery software is ten a penny, so it is pointless to offer something less that the competition.

The only reason to buy programs that only recover specific file types is because of the preview.
There are a number of freeware recovery programs and some that that do previews, the following is a link to 10 programs plus a review of them.

Installed and registered on a Win 8.1 Pro 64 bit system.

A Russian company with address and phone.

We had had already this software in an earlier version on April 23rd 2013. Here are the old reviews :

http://www.giveawayoftheday.com/easy-digital-photo-recovery/

Upon start a small non resizable window opens. You can select between physical and logical drives. That's good - so the program recognizes virtual TrueCrypt drives, too.

Under preferences some usefully options are already checked :

Skip overwritten files : these files can only be recovered partially, if...

Skip files with overwritten first cluster : the program cannot read the file info and therefor not identify file type and so on.

The program works as it should. The previews are too small, you can select the files to recover and the folder, where the recovered files should be stored.

One of the many recovery software tool. One of the better ones, but only a small subset of their Date recovery suite.

This is a must have for all photographers. Not only is it able to recover photographs, but it also lets you preview them before recovery. This is an ability hard to find in freeware solutions. So grab it while it is free.
Thanks GaOTD and MunSoft
Cheers
