I pass this one as well ...

- A robotic voice two præsenterer program (bad advertising Tactic)
- A lots of useless files and registry entries (make the PC SLOW)
- $ 39.99 for a flier program (no butter on the bread for a long time)
- Everyone Can use MS Word online version som samma funktioner and more

I can not see any bright side of this program.

I would have loved this program, if not for the non standard .NET 4 requirement. Sadly I will have to decline. But, thanks for the offer.

@Seannachie
Scribus and Serif PagePlus are smaller setups than this.
Is it so good that it merits 156mb?
How many Apollo missions could you guide with 156mb?

The program installed without any problems.
But - if you want to sell the package outside The United States, I would suggest that you improve the program by implementing the metric system.
It's not enough just to be able to choose A4 or key in the size of the document in millimeters, you also need millimeters on the rulers and templates.
In general the package works, but its far from perfect regarding the user interface options.
Therefore I believe $40 is far too much to pay until major improvements have been added.

#23: "... That yields nothing extra so it remains a mystery as to why the installation package is so huge – not to mention why it couldn’t be zipped."

If it helps, Steve, the GOTD Setup.exe unpacks a RAR compressed pair of files [RAR is like Zip compression], a setup.exe & a msi [Windows Installer] file. When installed, contents are put in the app's program folder [~68 MB], with templates stored in a separate folder under All Users App/Application Data [~160 MB].

#29: "Easy Flyer Creator 3.0 can not corrupt your Windows or damage your computer, it has been tested on several computers and operating systems already."

FWIW I completely agree -- but I can't say the same for .NET 4 & any required updates. Google/Bing & you find an uncomfortably high number of complaints &/or problem reports from .NET 4 &/or its updates not installing etc.

* * *

#30: "... problems experienced by people are only one caused by people not keeping their Microsift software up to date. (Not have Net framework 4 installed or updated to be precise.) Since I download and install Microsoft software updates on a regular basis, I didn’t have any problems with installation at all."

Monitored install in win7 ult 32 SP1, with *All* updates installed, including .NET 4 client, still required added .NET 4 package. This isn't the only app out there that's not satisfied with the .NET 4 offered on MS Update, & it's very possible the added packs have already been installed. However the only way you can tell is running the installation -- since Easy Flyer Creator checks for the .NET 4 it wants/need on starting, personally I'd rather the dev just listed it in requirements, & left it up to the user, but that's me.

Easy Flyer Creator is a nice app with big impact on Windows if you don't already have the required .NET 4 installation, & that's above/beyond the .NET 4 client update offered through Microsoft Update. If you already meet the requirements, &/or that sort of thing doesn't bother you, Easy Flyer Creator is a great way to quickly & easily knock out certificates, ads, & of course flyers. If OTOH you're managing just fine without .NET 4 on-board, &/or you like to handle the complete design process rather than rely on complete, fill-in-the-blank templates, you'll probably be better off using your regular Office-type app/suite &/or DTP oriented software like the publishing apps from Microsoft or Serif.

Running/Using Easy Flyer Creator is simple... You start out selecting a template, click the Next button & start customizing, which can range from simply filling in stuff like names &/or dates, to removing or replacing artwork & any other elements. You can import graphics or data, including from database records exported in 1 of several formats. And you can save your work as a template or print. Again it's not for DTP pros, who'll miss fine tuning text settings like kerning, leading, line spacing etc., nor can you fine tune vector graphics elements or do things like control the flow of text. But it does include the free Paint.net for photo/image work, and may be the quickest solution when like I said you want to just quickly knock something out with minimal time, thought, or effort.

As far as installation goes, Easy Flyer Creator itself creates two folders, the program folder with 584 files, 29 folders, ~68 MB, & a folder for templates under All Users App/Application Data, with 169 files, 18 folders, ~160 MB. An empty folder was created under UserName, & 52 fonts are included/installed, many duplicating what you likely already have, sometimes with older versions. As best I can tell there was one registry key needed/added. .NET 4 is another story... in win7 32 with the .NET 4 client & all updates installed, I recorded 2008 files added, 95763 registry entries added, 564 registry entries updated -- in XP Pro without any .NET 4, including 3 .NET 4 updates needed, 2600 files added, 13108 registry entries added, 3338 registry entries updated, with disk space used growing by roughly 800 MB. Registration appears keyed to the hard drive, & during the process Mamutu complained about Easy Flyer Creator behaving like a backdoor & later for accessing the hard drive.

Installed without any major problems on my Windows 7 Pro 64-bit system. For me, it's one of those programs I might use once in a while, although some people might find it useful, especially for doing kids projects for home or school.

My only gripe is with the installer. I already had .NET Framework 4 installed on my system with the latest updates (for another program I use). Easy Flyer Creator apparently didn't check to see whether .NET Framework 4 is already installed, but instead, without asking, installed an older version of it, which I had to update afterward. Poor programming practice.

This program is FULL of bugs. Even with numbers out of range, when just starting a template...

Giveaway of the Day is NOT a playground for Alpha-testing!! It's not even Beta stage, that bad. Really, really bad.

This is a waste. You can do much better with just a bit of imagination and something like Microsoft Works. The templates are basic if that. A bit win95 feel to the designs. There are free desktop publishing programs that will do much much better with more options.

I just read comment "nr. 18 Nigel". I also downloaded and installed the previous version offered here. So, what is the correct way? Uninstall the older version before install the new one? Or is it ok to install the today version over the older one? And in case if I have to uninstall the older version I think it´s horrible to use other programs like revo. Imagine, what a waste of time. I just want a clean install without the need to download more and more programs. This is for all this kind of GAOTD offers here. The programmers should give us programs which are easy to uninstall and don´t mess with our systems. Many of us aren´t specialists and I think the most of us uses their pc´s even for work and it would be a shame to ruin our pc´s just for "experimenting". In the past I by myself had to formate my pc and lost a lot of private information. Thanks for reading.

Reading through the comments, it seems that problems experienced by people are only one caused by people not keeping their Microsift software up to date. (Not have Net framework 4 installed or updated to be precise.)

Since I download and install Microsoft software updates on a regular basis, I didn't have any problems with installation at all. It took about a minute.

So for those of you who keep your systems up to date, you shouldn't have any problems. I just wanted to make a note of this because of some of the above comments...

Program installed easily and registration went without a hitch.

Lots of very nice templates included with the program. I like it, I have been wanting a program like this one...

To #3: Who cares what additional languages it might be in? It could also be offered in pig latin and it wouldn't make any difference as to how good of a program it is.

For those having issues with registration, they need to copy the serial number and email to sales@peridotec.com and in subject line must write GOTD

What a waste of time. This is an elephant that is used to lift a fly.
Not worthed to even bother with it. Why use .net on top of 150MB of worthless coding when you can download millions of free templates and just use any photo or word-processor program and you are done with it with much more flexibilities and better results.

Intrigued by the fact that the 158 Mb download really does result in only 66 MB of installed program including templates (despite my earlier assumptions), I also downloaded and installed the version from the publisher's website (157 MB).

That yields nothing extra so it remains a mystery as to why the installation package is so huge - not to mention why it couldn't be zipped.

DO NOT INSTALL THIS IF YOU WANT ALL YOUR OLDER PROGRAMS TO WORK . I installed this app and upon install it installed dot net 4 automatically , which disabled half my desktop gadgets and stopped other older programs from starting . Dot net 4 is required for this software but to be honest this program sucks . Much better alternatives out there . I uninstalled and removed dot net 4 , All my apps working again . :-((((

Win XP SP3
My apologies for posting three times, but after saying how easy it installed, then crashed each time I opened it, I found the reason was caused by leaving the previous version 2 on my system. Because of the way GOTD downloads work, there are no installation files, therefore I had to restore my system, delete version 2 using revounistaller, then install version 3.
So what I originally said was a quick install turned into a mornings work. I feel the vendors should have warned that version 2 should be uninstalled (Good Luck) first.Better still, have the new version install over the top of the old version as all the templates appear to be the same.

Further to the Idea Informer Panel...

All comments are currently ending up in suggestions :(

Currently, it doesn't seem possible to comment on others' ideas. Try and you find yourself whisked away to http://www.flyerscreator.com/?ia=27765
instead.

So for whoever asked why the installed app was so much smaller than the GOTD installation file it's because the latter includes all the templates and other files.

Belatedly.... Ooh look! GOTD Idea Informer panel has been updated so that ideas, bugs and general moans can be separated out.

Two hours and 40 minutes since today's giveaway began and no ideas have yet appeared, however.

It remains to be seem whether folk use it in the way intended or moderators end up filtering comments as necessary but it looks like a step forward.

#3, Your "wondering" about a product because it is offered in Arabic kinda makes *me* wonder about you...my "Bubba Radar" is pinging wildly, in fact. Bigotry is an ugly thing.

I tend to agree with #4 that there isn't much difference between this version & v2 but it's still an excellent product and well worth installing if you have a need for something like this. Installation (for me) was trouble-free and quick with Win 7

What a terrible program!

Over 150 Meg, and clearly American based templates. Before the program loads I am warned that my screen resolution is too high.

Tried several of the templates to start with and in every case the words disappear from the right of the paper. Tried to increase the size of the window but this was not allowed.

OK – the text size can be changed, but if a 150+ Megabyte program has these basic errors I will not proceed with it. Not checked other editing facilities because even the basics are crude. Uninstalling immediately.

Win XP SP3

Installed in two minutes, there was a request to check microsoft for updates, but my updates are installed upon release. The only improvement I can see in this version above version 2 is that the window is resizeable, although it doesn't remember the settings upon reopening!
Same number of categories for templates, I didn't count the actual teplates though

Installs easily on Win7 64 and seems to run without problem. Currently using around 105 Mb of memory with a single pizza flyer being edited (Mmmmmm, pizza!).

Although the registration form includes several obligatory details (including company name) you can just fill these with any odd character.

Looking around the Web, the program is generally well reviewed and various improvements and additions have been made since Ashraf judged V2 to be good too.

Much of what's on offer (barcodes, ticket production etc) probably falls outside the category of personal usage but there are lots of handy features and the templates make things a cinch to produce party invites et al. It's certainly worth investigating for yourself.

Decided to try this as I had downloaded and used their previous version (V2) when made available on GAOTD earlier this year/late last year.

This latest version requires the install of Microsoft .NET framework 4, which is downloads and installs for you, but it is a time-consuming download (and I'm on a fast ADSL line), so be prepared for a lot of time-wasting. Ultimately, the whole business from downloading Easy Flyer Creator from GAOTD and getting it installed on my system (Vista Home Premium 32 bit) took some 14+ minutes, and ends with a message from Easy Flyer Software stating: "Please use Windows Update to check for any critical updates to the .NET framework."

Just as well I checked, because there was an essential security patch due from Microsoft for the .NET framework 4 just installed - it was another 5.9MB to download, and took a further 12+ minutes to download and install - and then required a reboot!

All in all, the complete process of downloading, installing and registering Easy Flyer Creator took nearly 34 minutes on a previously up-to-date system and normally fast system, which is not really acceptable, though I appreciate that much of this is not the fault of Peridotec. However, had I known beforehand how much time and bother was going to be involved in installing version 3 of Easy Flyer Creator, I wouldn't have bothered - especially as I can see no real improvements or advantages over version 2, which is still on my system. In fact, I might just uninstall V3 and keep V2, which was a lot less hassle to install (and just as good to use).

Interesting looking program...wanted to see more about it before I downloaded. When looking at the website link with "blogs" I became a bit suspicious....with only four or five entries, and all on the same date...(see here http://www.flyerscreator.com/blog/Default.aspx ). When clicking on the "home" button, I get a 404 error. Nice that they offer this program in arabic as well. Makes me wonder.
