Hi All, Yes! This is a re-release of the same offering earlier this year! No Problem, If You Read! GOTD had to Pull today's original offering because of technical problems with the manufacturer. So, They got a sub! Works for me, I had version 2.0 from 2013 GOTD, Easy File Undelete 2.0 has always worked as stated and I have recovered files from RAM Disks and HDDs etc. Does a good job! There for, I was Happy to get a Chance to install Easy File Undelete 3.0 as I missed it when it was released earlier this year! And for Anyone that did miss it? Or, Wanted to try it? I only have one problem that I would like to see addressed by one of these software recovery company's! and that is: To Make it able to serch CD-ROM Drive/Disks to recover Files? I am a photographer and I have 2 older cameras that used Mini-CD-ROM Or, Mini-DVD-ROM Disks! These are great in the field as the Photos JPG's Are Burned to the CD and ready to use, Edit on a laptop and process, Or, Sell Right then! I also have two much newer NIKON D-90s etc, That used RAM-DISKS, Or, Memory Cards, I have had problems with both types of Medea! I like the fact that after a Photo is Burned to a CD, Its good forever! (unless you destroy the CD!) But! The SD RAM-DISKS can Fail with out warning! Ether in the camera! Or, In the process of plugging them into your PC! Static discharge and POP! Its Gone and you will never recover anything!
The CD-ROM Disks however sometimes get damaged when you don't pay attention to the Battery level and And you go to close out the disk and the camera goes dead!! Yes! I have done this a time or two! (o; The disk becomes unreadable! But, I can use software and the Photos ARE There! I just need a Recovery program that can read a CD-ROM Drive find these photos and recover them to one of my HDD's? That would be Great! Maybe this is an impossible request? I am not sure? But, It seems if the software can read and see the Photos just like on your HDD? It should be able to recover them and copy them to a Storage HDD? Or, RAM DRIVE? At Least On a CD-ROM Disk, What ever Photos are there? Are there! They can NOT Be over written! So, It seems to me to be a eraser task?

Easy File Undelete 3.0 Download and installed on Windows 7 64Bit System and went fast and easy and the 3.0 Version dos have improvements and seems to work a little better then the Version, 2.0 Its one of them applications that hopefully you will never need! But! If you Do? Its real nice to have! I'm afraid it's fairly common knowledge that no data is ever completely deleted. At best they are overwritten and the file table that refers to them is replaced ( but that can be recovered too).
If you want to be as sure as possible you destroy the media. The police (in the UK) and other official bodies usually delete files from redundant hardware with a large hammer.

The only reliable rule is that any file you really need to recover will have become seriously corrupted beyond practical use, even though every other file you have ever deleted will be recovered perfectly.

Failing a big enough hammer, a few overwrites and reformats will make files impractical to recover in normal circumstances.

Recently my backup drive's file system became corrupt and was unreadable. I tried all (about 10) of the most popular free programs, as well as a couple of paid versions, and none of them were up to the task. Some of them couldn't even read the drive! There was only one that was able to find the deleted file system with directory structure and file "names" and that was "EaseUS Data Recovery". However, this program is not free so I am waiting for it to be on GOTD.
By-the-way, I was able to fix the problem but had to run CHKDSK from the command line.

I started using this on my 1TB drive (am using 64 bit Win 8.1) & prog froze. Using task manager to stop - it says prog is 32 bit - is this going to be an unending problem? If so, why no 64 bit offering?

Undelete softwares are always welcome. Gonna try this one. I already have remo recover though. Wish those guys at remo gave away their goodies. thanks gaod.

Hey, do you know what's shocking? Use one of these kinds of programs on your camera card. Pictures you thought were long gone, and pictures you DON'T want the world to see, are still recoverable!

The learning curve is what drives me away from these undelte products. Been using remo recover free version since 2012, no problem yet. Though it had a learning curve too but it was far easier than other similar products. Today's give away isn't for me.

A quick search on google revealed that version 3.0 was released in 2012! Is this a giveaway for an older version? Please clarify.

Installed and registered without difficulty, opened to a functional interface.
A quick test on a USB flash drive using the fast search resulted in the finding a few files.
A test on the same drive using the complete search resulted in it finding many more files.

It was very optimistic in its assessment of how recoverable files were and somewhat confused as to file type. For instance EXE files would be marked as recoverable yet not start with MZ, obviously not an EXE file.
Image files with the extension .JPG would often say in the file type column "unknown" for some reason or other.

The recovery programs offered on the site have included a number of very good ones but at a high price, in the order of $140.
None at the same or similar price to today's offering have fared particularly well and this is no exception.

Looks like if you need a good recovery program you have to pay a high price, but a lot cheaper than taking your drive to a specialist recovery company.

This seems to be the same version given away on 5/13/13.

Btw, this market is over crowded with freeware. I suggest, the price will be reduced ;)

Installed fine on win7 32bit registration went without a hitch. works like it says but some files it would not recover properly. was able to recover files I had removed from my recycle bin with no problems. tried various pic file and some exe files I deleted on purpose.
