I like that is is fast by using sample comparison - ie compares segments of files rather than whole file. After you narrow down the list of duplicates you can re-check them with full file comparison for 100% confirmation.

Well, this program in an older version was very effective in finding duplicate files and displaying them in a list quickly. I would recommend being careful to select the recycle bin option if still available, since I almost deleted some stuff I shouldn't at my own risk. Just watch out for the Windows directory and it should go fine. I'm sticking with what I got because it works. Nothing wrong with the new version I hope. Good luck and thanks for the offer!

I'd like to say "stop at 5 finds and let me decide" or whatever number, maybe one find at a time, then next, then next.
To wait for it to search everything is too long, and the results are too overwhelming to go through, so I just exit and manually search.

One big deficiency. No preview pane of resulting list of photos after checking for duplicates. This is a Must Have. Otherwise you are deleting the photos without even looking at them to check. This is a Fatal Error for the software coding.

Installed fine.. ran once.. will be uninstalling. The interface font is so minuscule that It's unusable.

I downloaded the ZIP file, clicked the EXE file, connected to GOTD, but there is no sign of Duplicate File Finder installing. This has never happened before.
Did it a second time and same result, no installation of software. ;-(

Downloaded, Installed and activated/registered with no problems on my Win10 x64 machine using Edge as my browser.
First the good news. Have a HUGE folder with many duplicate jpg's. and mp4's. This scanned and picked for deletion many duplicates. Was very fast I must say.
Bad news. You will note I said "many" duplicates. It found by no means all of them, not even a majority. Very disappointed in this and will be deleting as soon as I finish this comment.
Good try Trisoft but you need MUCH work for this to be a success I'm afraid.
Now, for duplicate mp4's I have no suggestions but for jpeg duplicates I have found no better than Awesome Duplicate Photo Finder. Its not the fastest in the world but it finds them ALL even close ones. You need to go through them pair by pair and pick the duplicates to delete but if you really want to clean out all the duplicate pictures I have never found another program that can compare to this. Enough shilling but I urge you to try it.

Nosa Lee, there is a difference in file attributes and sizes vs pictures and compression. Recognition relies on a visual comparison like Google Lens to accurately identify them. It would be cool to offer these options together as 1 program because it gets confusing to clean them all. Just a suggestion. Thanks!

I installed the program easily. Finding the license icon on the bottom was the hardest part, lol! It ran quickly through my Pictures folder, and I have a few thousand images on my PC. Unfortunately, it checked many images for deletion, even though the names were different, by one digit, such as P1000435_edited (2019_08_02 10_37_11 UTC).tif and P1000436_edited (2019_08_02 10_37_11 UTC).tif. As a result, I cannot trust the results of this program.

Maybe the program should be called "Duplicate File Contents Finder"...isn't the file name part of the file and its structure protocols...a file cannot be created unless it has a file name, so to call your program a duplicate file finder is not entirely correct, a key feature listed is "Comparing File Contents, 100% Accurate Result;", but nowhere does it say in the features list that it will find duplicate file names.

Yes, the program compares file content, and you can set the comparing algorithm on the Options interface.

Colin, I tried this software. It gave "false positives". They claim using a "special" fast algorithm (High-speed Comparison Algorithm). Well... it fails.
I use Duplicate Cleaner - from Digital Volcano (Russian I think). A paid version which has many search criteria and also finds identical groups. But... it's 30$ .

Colin, I would say no. I have a lot of digital scrapbooking files. Most of the designers put their 'terms of use' on a jpg file. I know I have dozens of them from some of the designers. I group my folders by designer. It didn't find any of the TOU jpgs on the folders I selected. I would really like to get rid of the duplicates.

This one can find out duplicate photos, but Duplicate Photo Finder Plus is more professional for finding duplicate photos, such as preview, compares image content (not file content).

I don't know if it is included but when testing the File Finder it found all photos duplicated I had in the test folders. In this case .jpg files.
