If we are unable to autoupdate drivers without vising manufacture site and download manually this application is no use.

Mohan, I completely agree, this product is extremely hard work, and some of the links even take you to other driver update software. It did list 16 possible driver updates, which my paid version of Driver Update Pro doesn't list at all. I'm wondering if any of these programs are any good.

The registration data is in the readme file in the ZIP.

By the way, I use the PortableApps version which accepted the user name and key.

Sid B,

Great news! My only fear with that is trying to remember to NOT update it, since the PortableApps client deals with the updating and not the apps themselves. I don't recall seeing a way to disable updates for specific Apps. Guess I'll have to look into that.

Thanks for the info though!

Not an automatic downloader. And many links it opens doesn't work. Especially the intel ones.

"... many links it opens doesn't work. Especially the intel ones."

Finding Intel drivers can be iffy -- they recommend their Driver & Support Assistant, a small app that starts with Windows & checks for updates every start.

intel[.]com/content/www/us/en/support/detect.html

Intel used to have web pages with links to most every driver they released, but they've been steadily removing those pages, *I've read* at least partially under pressure from Microsoft to make them only available via Windows Update.

This just keeps opening a page to charge me money to upgrade to pro version. Doesn't matter what I click.

tenpigs, Did you follow the instructions to insert the user name and code in the readme file?

So..........."system requirements"..........

Does Dumo work on Windows 10?

Reply   |   Comment by bobbo  –  3 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+3)

bobbo, yes Dumo runs on W10, some people like it, others find it doesn't get the links to the updates (#4), while I found it tried to install older versions of the drivers I have, despite it telling me there was a newer version. I find that Iobit driver updater does a better job, you get the updates for the version of it you have, and It is available here roughly every six months.

grangehearts, Thanks. I like using an update service to see what might be new but I don't install updates unless some program isn't working right. This can be hard to tell re many "security" updates but pretty simple for hardware. If my printer works as desired, I'm not updating any related driver.....

Basically all it does is takes you to the manufacturers page which offers various choices of driver so you have to physically plough you way through the choices. When it took me to the Intel site and I downloaded it's Driver and Support assistant and it scanned my system it couldn't finish as an error kept coming up. This app is crap so I'll stick to the free Driver Booster which does the job automatically.

Laurie, I wouldn't bother with Intel, their support is an absolute joke! Can't even provide a USB3 driver for my DX79TO mobo.
I regard these automatic driver updaters as risky, because you're not in control of their often poor quality drivers.
Even Windows is a tad risky at times for 3rd party drivers, as was the case with my mobo, besides Intel.
