Does what it says on the tin as far as I can see. Minor suggestion possibly put the eraser option on the right click menu on windows when clicking on file to delete rather than going in to the program and searching for file to delete every time.

ds777, it is on the right click menu... the only time it is not is if you run the program from the extracted setup, exe contents and do not actually install it properly. I had 3 variants of this program on my right click menu when I tested this one out as 2.0 and again with 2.1 before uninstalling this one.

The app erased a stubborn folder from my hard drive but replaced it with another un-erasable folder called DONEMAX. This is zero gain. How do I get rid of this new unwanted folder?

In this iteration of the eraser there seems to be no user interface to CHOOSE the erasure algorithm! There is no gear wheel button in top right location as described in user guide and as exists in all other re-skins of this, rendering this as unusable for me as I have no way to tell what algorithm is being used for all I know it could be hammering my drives with inefficient and unnecessary 35 passes!

"(It will not shorten the service life of your SSD.)" is simply untrue even a single 0 overwrite if done as requested by the SSD firmware will consume an EXTRA erase/write cycle that would not be needed under any version of windows from 7 upwards as the OS and filesystem driver does a deallocate on each sector deleted and that deallocate command is translated into a TRIM command for each sector and the SSD queues the allocated FLASH memory segment for erasure during the next clean up cycle and deallocates the sector for external access. Only *some* SSD device firmware look for the special case of zero-fill sectors writes as a TRIM sector read zeros... add to that fact that more modern versions of windows schedule a mass-TRIM event on detected SSD unused space on the system ensuring deletions done by non-filesystem drivers are cleaned up too rendering the need to erase by overwrites on SSD a moot point it should all be handled by the OS on permanently attached SSDs. Only case where TRIM deallocates on SSD is simply not done at all is in the case of Pre-windows 7 systems AND where SSDs are connected via some kind of USB bridging chipset that does not let the OS know it's dealing with SSD storage devices so it will not switch from general mass storage device to special case Solid State Device storage mode. (if windows offers to defragment it rather than just optimise it then windows does not know it's a SSD and TRIM won't be performed on the drive.
