I've got a lot of PDFs on an iPad2 which I would like to be able to transfer to other devices, iTunes will only work for paid books. Like itunes, this software couldn't see them so not much use for me.

Horrible product. Installs a Video Downloader without warning or permission. That triggered an immediate antivirus alert when DMTrans was launched. The user interface is gross; it overfilled my screen, making me struggle to find controls. Then, it only offers a complete backup/copy of specific categories, like messages, without any way to filter or select which ones to copy. This software is, at best, not ready for consumer use. I uninstalled it immediately.
