So for a long time I have read the comments of others complaining about the up/down vote situation. I have a suggestion but it would involve a change by the site owners and I don't know if would be difficult or easy to do.
I would suggest adding a button that says "not interested'. I believe a lot of those down votes are from folks who stop by to look and have no use for the offer of the day. It would be an interesting experiment to try anyway.

One use I can see for this is in the preparation and planning of file and folder remapping of frequently written to files on a system SSD drive to a secondary magnetic or more disposable SSD drive, see which files are written to near continually like many files in C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Search\Data\Applications\* part of that path could be re-mapped to a partion on the secondary magnetic drive to save the total number of daily wrties to SSD media. When I did that optimising work on my Windows 10 laptop I used the shareware SSDReady program but this would have done the job just as well.

I vaguely remembered I had tried a previous giveaway of this some years ago and typed Disk into the start menu search and there it popped up a higher version than the previous giveaway version, thought curious... fired it up and it said it was registered to GOTD... so thought no problem if it does not accept the old license in latest version so just selected check for updates, it found the version on offer today so I pressed install and it downloaded and shut down the current instance and installed and relaunched itself as the current version and still registered to GOTD... seems the license offered is lifetime usage and so far lifetime updates. While many may be voting it down for reasons like they have no use for it to me even though I never used it the fact that it is actively supported, and the license is not restricted to minor or even major version changes and the update process is painless operationally and policywise it deserves a thumbs up as someone somewhere will find it useful and no down sides we often see with vendors that shortchange us during giveaways e.g. the other giveaway on offer today a 6 month trial license for a product that is only sold with lifetime licenses.

TK,
I agree with you on the license issue -- painless updating is nice, even if it only works on a GiveawayOfTheDay offer day.
I'm surprised at the low user rating vote results so far without seeing more posted comments/proof as to why. Perhaps this is simply another day of reflection on title "popularity" vs performance.
However, do you think today's version addressed some/any of the previous concerns/issues you and others had with the earlier version(s) (aside from the feature set of "Pro" vs "Ultimate" vs "Server" vs "Enterprise") as linked below?
