As good luck would have it, I don't have 6 months to wait for the Activation Code......
The several other pgms in the system do a GOOD JOB.......just curious if this one was "interesting".

Installed, but did not recieve the activation code after two requests and waiting 1/2 hour. Uninstalled after reading poor reviews.

Please note that as with any file recovery program which scans for certain file type signatures (also known as "magic bytes" in the IT world), chances on recovering your files mostly depend on whether they were stored on disk as contiguous (that is, not fragmented).
That's because when a file is permanently deleted, all information about what physical disk sectors were allocated to that file is lost. If the deleted file was fragmented, only the first fragment of that file can be recovered (at best).

So, not being able to recover your files is not a bug in recovery program, it's a limitation of file storage technology.

Not so good, recovers everything into general name files including the windows temp files intermingled with useless fragmented files.
I ran a test and deleted some doc files and after running this software I could not find the deleted files and I opened over 1000 of them among over 10000 recovered.

Anybody know about recovery soft to recover from inaccesible hdd ,

which spins , but can't read some cylinders???

Edgar, welcome to my nightmare if it's not IDE well you're in luck.. get several freezer bags place the hdd in a bag remove all air then add more bags around it making it as empty as possible of air. Freeze it for at least 30 minutes then plug that hdd real quick and move those files the more that drive gets hot the less chances you have to get the data back.

If you have experience with Linux Live Cd, try that one with a recovery program.
Limux handles HD at a different way then Windows and sometimes you are lucky.
Otherwise assign a driveletter to the faulty disk; that will help sometimes.

Edgar, what happened to your backup drives or you never made a backup?
Recovering can never get all of the files back, not even the big ones, it is a last resort if your HD is functioning normally, otherwise you can never recover files from hardware failure.

Edgar, try Testdisk.
Google for some tutorials on how to use it first or you'll think it's not working but it's your best bet.
It has saved me several times when professional products couldn't do a thing.

Upon trying to activate, keep getting the message, "There are no more activations".

To reset, you must enter your Activation Code, Reservation No. and your email used to register.

Where do you get the RESERVATION NO. from, since there is none in the email that is sent to you with the Activation Code?

Save your energy........it's not worth the effort......there are MANY out there that WORK FINE......some free. Who would wait "HOURS" for the code.........that never comes.......

I too was about to give up, but instead I uninstalled and used my wife's email address to obtain a new Activation Code.

Success with this!

Whether or not I was justified in persisting remains to be seen.

Otherwise, I will revert to my previous installation to excellent Piriform's "Recuva", the basic program being free.

Run all recovery methods include quick scan and deep scan.
Quick scan recovers directory structure and original filenames .
Deep scan shows much more files but no original names.
Quick scan doesn't recover much files, deep scan recovers more but most of them are broken, video are unplayable or you can hear only audio, audio files show 20 min but plays only 3, most of the documents are not view-able too, sad.

I have a folder that I've been actively using for quite a while, about a few years, and I know I've been deleting files a lot from it, so i ran all recovery methods but it has found only 23 files, and didn't find folders I remember deleting.

What's the point in "Search by name" function, if it doesn't recover original file names, at least on my system, it just groups files into categories and groups categorizes by file extensions into folders.
For example if i'm looking for "my photo.jpg" but in jpg folder there're only files with "file000001.jpg...file000002.jpg" and so on, and there're 1500 of them, it would take a while to find the one i need by previewing everyone of them.

On their website, Cleverfiles write, “It may seem complicated, but it's not”!

I tested Disk Drill using my Kingston USB-key containing lost partitions and bad blocks. Disk Drill stopped, dead in the tracks after 19%. I even waited for another 45 minutes, but to no avail. No files or folders found.

I comparison, the Ontrack EasyRecovery Pro 11.5.0.3 found 3.753 files in 365 folder in 10 minutes.

Maybe it’s a bit complicated after all!

There is an option to make an image.
This took about 2 minutes with a Kingston Datatravellar 8Gb USB3.
And scanning the image went fast, about 30 times faster then direct scanning.

It found a lot of files I don't remember using or deleting but I can recognize some of them as program files,
it couldn't find one I just deleted, it's maybe my fault.
It don't remember the last recovery directory after program's restart.
Every time I try to recover new files after program's restart, I need to choose where to recover, because recover to the same drive is not recommended since it's possible to overwrite the data you want to recover.

Attempting to register this software opens Internet Explorer(yes, I'm not a Win 10 user). IE is not my default browser, I don't use it, ever, and my default browser is not set as IE. Why does this software think that it can open a program on my computer that is not my chosen software for the task?

There is no EULA during the software installation, therefore I have no idea what this program wants to do on my computer, it is my computer! I'm not using software that does not declare what it does in an open manner.

Thanks for the offer, I was interested in using this software, but I'm not interested in software with bad manners.
