whether this converter can support MAC? i often use WonderFox HD Video Converter Factory Pro before, it can convert videos and audios to many popular formats and devices at fast speed and high quality. but sadly, it can't support MAC.

Installed to Win10 and registered without problem. However, I requested to install to a different drive, but program completely ignored my request and installed it into the ordinary Programs folder anyway.

Virus,

>Is this faster than Winx Converter or not?
I think it depends on what hardware acceleration options you have available to you, and if the WinX you refer to is a comparable converter. Dimo claims Videomate is a "all around converter" but they also have their "HD Video Converter," their "Video Converter Ultimate," and their "4k Video Converter" products, plus a couple more that sound like they do very similar tasks.

For another curiosity (when WinX Ripper was offered) whether it used both hardware accelerations when available (Intel and nVidia), I ran some comparison tests on the WinX HD Converter Deluxe program to determine how it performed (outputs were mp4 at 2560x1440).

Dimo Videomate does not show that is is using any hardware options, so in a way, it cannot perform as well as the WinX HD Converter Deluxe if you can use hardware acceleration. Still, I did do a comparison to see whether the program is valuable to me compared to what I get from the WinX HD Converter program.

Regardless, knowing I already had some past data to compare timings, I started Dimo Videomate to see how it stacked up with the same source video. The first thing I noticed after adding the source file is that the output default is set to the same as the input, but the output can be selected with a drop-down menu. The max choice was 1920x1080, however there is a custom choice. Initially, I went with the defaults (using same as input) knowing I could also run the same test with WinX afterwards.

Source: 15:35 video at 1166x652 264 aac mp4.

Output: same as input for all options
6:25.02 Dimo Videomate
1:04.44 WinX
This should be a pointless test, because the output format and options ares the same as the input, so it makes you wonder what all Dimo Video mate was doing to do nothing more than essentially copy the file. WinX's time probably was nothing more than copying the file with some extra checking to ensure the output was correct.

Upsizing the input resolution to a higher output value gives each of the two converters some work to do.

Output: 2560x1440 264 aac mp4
21:56.68 Dimo (no hardware options to check)
5:11.47 Neither Intel nor nVidia checked (probably the best comparison value)
7:28.39 nVidia only checked
3:32.24 Intel only checked
2:15.36 WinX both Intel and nVidia checked

If you have WinX HD Converter Deluxe, Dimo Videomate is not going to make things easier/quicker for you.

What is the difference between yesterday DIMO converter and today DIMO mate? Or better what can the converter do more or better than the mate?

Reply   |   Comment by Ritchi Freudenkinder  –  5 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+14)

Ritchi Freudenkinder, Dimo HD Video Converter 4.1 will only convert from HD or higher. Todays Dimo Videomate 4.1 will convert from SD or higher. Not sure what their definition of SD is, though.

Ritchi Freudenkinder, as I'm writing this I'm converting a 1920*1080P video to 852*480P with yesterdays Dimo HD Video Converter 4.1. Only have the built-in graphics processor of and intel chip( I don't know if's using it or not ). It looks like it is going to take an hour to convert a one hour video.

Ritchi Freudenkinder,

>What is the difference between yesterday DIMO converter and today DIMO mate? Or better what can the converter do more or better than the mate?
In appearance, they seem identical except with a different name at the top left. There does not appear to be much difference in what they do, only in what they accept as a source file. Yesterday's DIMO HD converter appears to be intended for working with HD video only. For example, if you try to open a video of lower resolution, it lets you that it only opens HD video.

I was able to open an mp4 file created by Dimo Videomate at 2560x1440 (length 15:35). I decided to see how long it takes to convert it to the same size, all settings same as input, both mp4. The output file took 26:56.06 to complete, essentially making a copy of the input. The output file was slightly larger (952,171,762 to 957,311,750). Today's Videomate seems to take about the same time to do the same processing, neither very impressive. See the comparison test I did with WinX HD Converter as a guideline to how this HD Converter works.

Yesterday's HD Converter GOTD offer has a byline "World's NO.1 Fast HD Video Converter" but I do not see how that is justified. It does remind me of number 2.

Back again. I have it working now after shutting it down and restarting again and now it is working fine. It doesn't go any faster than most of the others but it does the job. I particularly like the edit portion where you can edit out whatever you want and clean it up pretty. Thanks GaotD for another great program.

Well I downloaded and put in the key and it said it was a good register and then I tried it and nothing happened. I shut it down and loaded it up again and still nothing. I record TV shows all the time and convert them to HD 720 MP4s all the time with WinX and no problems but I can't even get this started to convert. Do you think it might have something to do with the new update for Win10 1803?

Handbrake does this and more. What advantage does this program offer?

Reply   |   Comment by Kathi Waite  –  5 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+3)

Kathi Waite,

"Handbrake does this and more. What advantage does this program offer?"

Installation has Much lower impact on Windows & its media handling ecosystem. Of course this is a moot point if you already have handbrake installed.

Many might also feel that Dimo Videomate is easier to use than Handbrake.

Can anyone say whether this program is faster than most converters or the same? I have a converter From WinX which I got here originally and I bought it and really enjoy using it but if I could a faster one I would really like it. Please comment on your trials if you could.

Seems the only way to get the registration key is via Facebook or Twitter. As I don't have either of these it would appear I'm excluded from being able to tryout today's download. Is there another way to get the registration key?

Robert, same here. I got the download link via email, but only way to get reg'n code is by Twitter or Facebook which I don't use.

As requested by the installation process, I shared the info on Twitter.
Was then given the following Registration Key: *** which i duly pasted into the "Registration Code" . I then received the following error: "register failed" . I feel like such an idiot now because I did what the company asked and promoted them on my Twitter, only to find that the code is incorrect. Wow... I won't be doing that again needless to say.

Marcus, I did not share any info neither twitter nor facebook, what i did is to download the software and use the reg. key you provided above and it worked for me.

Marcus, I refuse to shill for software. Why would you promote a program that we never tried? Cheap tweets as these point to a deceptive developer. I'm sure they will make good on your efforts, but this practice is abominable. I'm disappointed GOTD condones it.

Reply   |   Comment by Kathi Waite  –  5 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+26)

Kathi Waite, As a rule, I never "shill" for anyone. I never promote anything that I haven't had a chance to evaluate and use myself, and my recommendations are always based on my own experiences with the product, and not some spammy pre-written hype provided by the developer that's likely to get me flagged as a spammer.

There are a lot of "marketers" out there who will promote anything and everything, especially if there's a commission to be made from it. Most people promoting ClickBank products have never even bought the products they promote! (That is, unless they're given a complimentary copy by the developer).

As a marketing trainer, this is the VERY FIRST PRINCIPLE I drive home with my students. In marketing, the real "secret sauce" is to be unique. In a sea of spammers, hucksters and "carnival barkers," an honest marketer who strives to fulfill the needs of people will always shine like a lighthouse on a clear night!
