Can't see how you register this program, where is the registration window in the program?

8K is a gimmick, so don't think that this will give you anything useful right now.

It has quite am awkward interface that just does not feel right.

My recommendation is to just use VLC, make the simple changes required for Blue Ray and the head off to Youtube and search for '15 Cool VLC Features You'll Wish You Knew Earlier!' where you will find VLC features you did not know existed.

Once you have done that you should not see any reason that I can think of for using the Dimo player and of course VLC is always free, no matter what stage of development it is at, not to mention, it runs on many platforms, so familiarity is useful across OS's.

I have a m/c with an AMD 3700X CPU with 32 GB DDR4 RAM plus AMD 5700XT with 8GB DDR5 RAM.....but where do I buy an 8K monitor for less than 2 Grand...If I could and did, would I use a free player software...probably not!
VLC is good enough for me, and is actually quite brilliant .....even on my poxy low-res 4K monitor.

My question is WHY? it comes bundled in most of their products as an unmentioned free bundled program! It's GUI is sparce it's features are extreemly limited better off with VLC which is MUCH more feature rich and capable.

Can this play SBS 3D videos? If not, which player can?

Hariharasuthan KS,

Lots of players will play SBS 3D Videos - BUT you need a 3D TV plus the glasses to see the effect. (Not easily available now) You may have some luck with a VR headset, but you need a very beefy GPU in your computer.

The link to their website lists three 'flavours' of player - "Standard or Blu-ray Power or Pro version" - on it's page, so what version is the one on offer here today?

Bigteapot, Blu-ray

Bigteapot, I installed it and since it is possible to open both Blu-ray and open URLs, it is the Pro version (Blu-ray cannot open URLs according to https://www.mediadimo.com/8k-player which describes the differences between the 3 versions).

What processor speed is needed to watch 4K videos, 8K videos with Windows 10 home?

Reply   |   Comment by Gary  –  3 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (-4)

Gary, I have a 4K (MKV) file that plays in slow motion using your player. (I3, 3.60 Ghz)

Gary, the 4K videos depend more on the speed and memory allocated to the video card or the built in video chips than on the CPU speed. I have allocated 4GB for the video and it plays without any glitches or speed degradation.
