This is the first time the version 3 of this software is offered by GOTD. The previous times it was 2.14 and 2.15, this time it is 3.3. There is a changelog in a Readme text file which opens during installation. If you close it, you will have to look for it in C: Programmes \ Reallusion \ CrazyTalk Animator 3, but there is also some information here before you decide to upgrade:
https://forum.reallusion.com/371425/01-Whats-new-in-CrazyTalk-Animator-v33

For once, it is not a compressed folder, but directly the executable. It installs BESIDE the previous version. (I could make a full uninstall of version 2.15 with Soft Organizer after installing this one without apparent damage to it). After installation, you will be suggested to download and install a resource pack (for free also) and a so-called "hub".

TAKE NOTE: this is CrazyTalk Animator. CrazyTalk and CrazyTalk Animator (now called Cartoon Animator in version 4, probably to avoid the confusion) are two different programs by Reallusion. CrazyTalk creates 3D animated and talking heads while CrazyTalk Animator creates 2D animated and talking characters (or heads) moving in 3D.

Maybe I'm missing something but I cannot import a png image and apply bones, the icon on the left stated in the video tutorials doesn't even give the option of importing a G3 character. It's as if this is a massively stripped down version compared to that described in the offer text.

Tried so many times and the installation fails saying my computer is not connected to the internet..!! How than I was able to download the 700MB installer.. Seems like a waste of time and bandwidth in my case :(

I even tried disabling my antivirus and firewall..

No matter what combination of Reallusion Hub program properties compatability settings I've tried (Application, System, Enhanced; settings for all users, etc.) to get it to appear normal-sized on my high DPI display, it insists on running in a very small window with nearly-unreadable tiny text.

This is the first software title where I've not been able to adjust the properties to correct for High DPI issues.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Reallusion\LiveUpdate\Reallusion Hub.exe , version 4.0.0.0

(forgot to add)

https://www.reallusion.com/hub/

"The Reallusion Hub is the manager of all your Reallusion programs and plug-ins, helping you easily utilize and organize everything in one place. Through the Reallusion Hub you can quickly review, open, install and update any 2D/3D animation program or plug-in you already own. What's more, is that with the Hub you can download other Reallusion products for FREE, giving you a chance to try before you buy."

As described, it offers updates, even today. However, would accepting those updates cause our GiveawayOfTheDay-licensed installations to revert to trial versions (as typically happens with other daily offers)? I'm not willing to try, so perhaps I'll just avoid using the "Hub".

(REVISION!!!)

It turns out that I WAS able to adjust the "properties" for Reallusion Hub (RH) to correct for the high-DPI display issue.

It turns out that when previously attempting to make the compatibility adjustments I did not realize that RH was not exiting between those attempts, so no changes were taking place. Instead it continued to run with its minimzed icon located in the Taskbar "Show hidden icons" "overflow" menu where I did not notice it until today.

After truly exiting RH (right-click on minimized icon, choose Exit), and then adjusting the properties compatibility high-DPI settings, I was able to easily get it to launch and appear in a normally-sized window (and text).

I did note in the Reallusion support forums where there are several (old and recent) entries complaining that they have been dragging their heels for a long time on including high-DPI display support in many, if not all, of their products, especially considering their products' prices.

Four hours I waited for the verify but then said it could not verify. Why do they have to make it all so difficult, just an installer and reg code is all that is required. I wanted this but looks like I don't get it. waste of time.

The downloaded file I received is indeed a .zip file which appears to be a Stand Alone Install.

After downloading all the files with an old account from 2016:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/sddox8y5oswb037/Downloads.png
The Setup will take some time; it is a big program.
Also a screen about Resourcepack:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/uwcawt4fan752kn/Setup-3.png
And also something about Update; I let it install it:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/5eyznivx6f0smtz/Update.png
I loaded an old project and let it Render:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/dkxima4nuu2lxla/OudProjectRenderen.png
https://www.dropbox.com/s/8pb9wb9j3qy3qr6/RenderOpties.png
Overall I did not so much, render an old project, added something to it and also let a demo render.
Results are in(maybe first download and then play it):

Installation program says my copy-and-pasted serial number is invalid. I had Crazy Talk 2, but also lost it in a drive failure. Would like to install 3 and see if it's worth upgrading to 4. Thanks for any help.

I figured it out. I was using an old browser, IE 11, and it wouldn't work so I used Chrome. Now it works.

This registration process is not working. I am a Reallusion member, but I can't get to the sign in page. The little circle just spins and spins. I would really like to try this program. Is there some other way to download it and get the registration key?

Downloaded, registered, got serial number, etc.. Clicked to install and get hourglass for about 10 seconds and then nothing. Rebooted and tried installing again -- same nothing. Windows10 version 1903. Anyone else having this problem?

V P SINGH, When you click the download button you will go to the Reallusion GAOTD page that has instructions on how to register, getting the key and downloading the software. I am not connected with Reallusion. Just another GAOTD user who just successfully went through the process.

I recall this lovely GOTD from last year, the current version is 4,
is there a comparison page? 3 vs 4? standard vs pro vs Pipeline?

Reply   |   Comment by adid  –  4 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+1)

adid, currently Reallusion doesn't have the comparison for version 3 vs 4. But the main difference is 360 head and IK/FK motion editing. You may check the website https://www.reallusion.com/cartoon-animator/360-head-creator.html and https://www.reallusion.com/cartoon-animator/smart-ik-animation.html#smart-ik . And for Cartoon Animator 4 comparion table is here https://www.reallusion.com/cartoon-animator/download.html#version-comparison

Is this giveaway just for Windows users, since it's for both Windows and Mac ?

Reply   |   Comment by Allan F  –  4 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (-6)

Allan F, I believe there is a Mac download available. The download is not on GAOTD servers but will direct you to the Reallusion page where you can register and download both Win and Mac versions.
