i wanted to recover some deleted photos, but in my Samsung S7 couldn't do it.
there was a message in pc saying "Sorry! Your device may not be rooted".

Just a note : I had a previous version, installed on top of it without problems, but the validity period remained from the old version, so had to unninstall it and re-install the new version. Now licence is valid for 1 year.

mario, WRONG it does require the phone to be rooted for the sideloaded apk to directly access the filesystems logical clusters to scan for deleted data... The program instructs us to grant the APP sideloaded onto the android device SuperSU permissions or KingRoots SU rights.

SergioGR, It said the same about my rooted phone ... sometime after it had given up I went to settings in the sideloaded coolmuster android assistant and got it to check for update, which it found and I installed... about that time I got some SuperSU root rights requests which I approved with a 15min re-ask option.
This time trying to recover files did succeed at properly requesting root rights and gaining it and is now in process of deep scanning and has found some data from before my recent factory reset.
