it is a smooth process to run on my win10 x64 os.
no disable of any AVs, no warning messages, no blocking.
so it is a acceptable s/w by M/S.
try out the s/w, it is easy to use.
thanks Pearl Mountain & GOTD.

Downloaded and installed just fine. (Win7 Pro x64) After following the directions in the READ ME, I saw that there was no active place to "upgrade." Instead, I discovered that the program is already registered as the PRO version. NICE! Thanks so much, GAOTD and PearlMountain!!

I had version 1.9.4 of this program and like it a lot. It is well worth a visit to their info page to get the most out of it.

The link sent to download without sharing doesn't work. You receive a 404 page error.

cyd, I had the same trouble yesterday, but I never received the email with the download link. It looks like I am having the same trouble today.

Could have better instructions for registering. Thanks to Jim 4 posting them here. After installing it was unable to execute a file to open an HTML document/website. Code 1155 no application associated etc. Also could not paste the unlock code into the space. Had to type it manually. Luckily I got the "0"s and "O"s right. Hope to get some time to play with this soon. It looks like it is a fun piece of software.

Here's an example I did from my photos of the (alas now-defunct) Night Carnival:

Same version from the last two giveaways of this (Nov 2015, Jan 2015). Hasn't been updated in a super long time.

I almost skipped upgrading my 1.9.4 version to this 1.9.5 version because it did not offer me the screen to select the installation directory. Luckily it seems it skipped that to install over the older version in its present location. However, any user who wishes to place this version elsewhere had better delete any previous version from their computer first.

To the developers, I would strongly recommend always adding in the installation option including the always important option of "do you wish to install over a previous version?" choice.

I'm might missing something here, but I cannot possibly think of a use for this program.
What do you do with the collages once you've made them?

Derek Lawler, Then what do you do with your photos?

Reply   |   Comment by CN  –  6 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+1)

Derek Lawler, Print them, maybe?

Reply   |   Comment by Bruce  –  6 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+1)

Derek Lawler, in life, certain things are not to be used, just to be enjoyed. Long before the digital age, people have made collages with their images/photos. A few suggestions nevertheless: with your collages you can make wallpapers/slideshows/screensavers for all your screens (Pc, tablet, smartphone, Tv) or have them printed on postcards, posters, textiles, objects...

But above all, making them could help develop your creativity, which is always good for the neural cells of those who lack imagination.

Derek Lawler, Shove them on Facebook as a Holiday/Event sum-up in one photo? Make a poster for an event using one, or just a poster?

Derek Lawler, I've recently been having fun photographing butterflies with my new camera. I used this program to make a butterfly collage for my PC desktop wallpaper. The result looks great and reminds me of my lovely days out in the countryside. I will probably change the wallpaper every so often as my photo collection grows. The collage was super easy to do - so thanks to GotD and Pearl Mountain Software for giving us the opportunity to play with this program!

Derek Lawler, I'm with you on that one. Never have understood what the point of these things were other then to waist a persons time with making them in the first place

Excellent program, like others I already had the previous version. This installed as sweet as could be and no need to enter the registration number. One tiny little "niggle" though ( which was the same as the prvious version) why on Earth when you go to load an image does it ALWAYS revert to the default location? Why not the last location used or better still after you have navigated to the folder that holds the images and found the image you want...why not go back to that folder, which seems a more logical way to do things?

Reply   |   Comment by Ian  –  6 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+21)

Ian, I cannot say for certain whether this will work with this program, but have you tried saving a program native file to the folder you are working from? Let's say for the sake of this explanation that the program's native format is ".col" (minus the quotes). If you are doing a project that takes a couple or more sessions to finish, you will need to save a file that preserves word already done. It is a good idea to immediately save such a file as soon as you have launched a new work session, and to save that file to the folder you wish to work from. This does a few things that are beneficial, and one of those things should be that when navigating to where the resources are that you wish to use, if you saved a program native file to that location, you will go to that location each time you need a file from it, or you need to save a file to it.

Test this method and see if it works.

Could someone tell me where the included serial number goes? I can't find it in the program.

Reply   |   Comment by Jim  –  6 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (-2)

Jim,
Once you've installed the program, open it up. On the top you'll see a help menu. Drop that down and choose the upgrade option. That will give you a place to enter the activation key. Put it in there and you've got the pro version.
Hope this helped!

Jim, Although note if you had the previous GAotD version this one seems to just use that registration, so there is nowhere to enter one (it will say "Pro" in Help-> About.

I have the version from the previous giveaway, which was 1.9.4 Pro. I've no idea what's changed but I will say I was very happy with the results I got from the previous version and on that basis would recommend it.

Reply   |   Comment by JohnL  –  6 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+4)

P.S. The installed didn't have a GAotD wrapper, it was just the product's installer. Also I found it just used the license from the previous GAotD version, I didn't need to enter anything.

krypteller, Fair point, I had a previous GAotD Giveaway and I checked and it was 1.9.4, I guess I missed a later version. I check GAotD basically every day so that's odd.

G'day, it seems like a good photo collage software. As a graduate from Information System Management, I really like the giveaways of today. But I just want to know why Collageit is free to everybody, while the other prototype software is a contest to win? Can I get a free copy of it now?
