I installed with concern that the sound will disappear on your computer.
And so it happened speakers did not work.
There is also the possibility of voice settings in the screen saver,
because the name Christmas Night is not in choosing Saver.
It's probably a program error?

Since I already had a similar case with Christmas Eve,
I looked for notes and I downloaded a trial Christmas Eve.
Only after the introduction of the "two sample" Trials Christmas Eve
and uninstalling these two screensavers, returned the sound on your computer.
I did it like this:
http://pl.tinypic.com/usermedia.php?uo=a6BMdyuA%2FVw%2B10OWyxrbI4h4l5k2TGxc#.UrwrkeVw5AW

Please explain why Scrensawers removes audio and can not hear anything.
For Christmas Eve heard was just a melody screensawer.
Regards.

I've been using GOTD for a number of years now, and for the first time ever, I have a download that cannot be installed ("Giveaway of the Day X Failed to launch the program"). This is accompanied by AVG AntiVirus installed on my computer reporting a trojan horse install attempt. AVG reports Trojan horse Crypt_c.ZRD, Severity: High, State: Infected, process name: C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Temp\Temp_ChristmasNightAnimatedWallpaper.zip\Setup.exe

Again, I have never seen this before on any of HUNDREDS of GOTD files I've installed over many years. I also installed the special game giveaway of the day today and had absolutely no problems with that.

I've noticed in the comments above that some people are reporting problems with spurious CPU usage, crashes, and so on, and I don't know if this is related. Viruses are getting more sophisticated and I'm using the latest AVG AntiVirus program and the current update.

This looks like a nice Christmas wallpaper, and I reviewed the other Christmas wallpapers from AnimatedWallpaper7.com - they all look GREAT! I cannot believe that this company did anything wrong, so I'm wondering what's going on here?! However, Martin Braithwaite commented earlier (see his comment) that the contact info for the company seems non-existent. Someone ought to be able to explain THAT!

I did download this a second time from GOTD, and had the same results. If this mystery can be solved, I hope that AnimatedWallpaper7.com and GOTD will make the fixed version available soon. I'd like to try it.

Meanwhile I cannot take a chance on compromising my computer, especially in light of the other comments above which were reporting odd problems.

Thanks GOTD for all of the amazing offerings during 2013 and to GOTD and everyone, have a Merry Christmas

I am running duel quad core xeon 3.0's and 16 gig of ram, Windows 7 Pro and this thing locks when I go online or try to open other programs. I was enjoying this background so much I clicked on get more and when I did it locked just the browser. I got out of that and went to opening other stuff and it locked up nearly everything I opened.

#10 Richy - who peed in your cornflakes this morning?

Did someone try arm-twist you to put this on your computer?

You have the option to use or to not use.

A comment like yours on any site I run,

@25 you should either use another whois database or look a bit better then you would have found a redirection to http://who.godaddy.com/whois.aspx?k=jUO6FFh+T0QP8mgxMgigSUK5G7JPbHXQudEz3e0ljHik/TW/qoVXSTTMO+sTv+iBOoOnxVMDJwc=&domain=animatedwallpaper7.com&prog_id=GoDaddy with all the info you want.

Meh, crashes/freezes if you deselect 'run at startup', does not play nice with WinXP SP3 - much rather have an Astro Gemini screensaver than an unstable animated wallpaper 8-)

Installed with no problems on Win 8.1. It is a nice Xmas scene. After turning it off; it was slow to start up again. By slow, It takes about 10 seconds to restart. Almost all of my other programs start in less than 5 seconds. After an exit out of the wallpaper using the programs popup window, it may take my computer 2 to 3 attempts to get the program to start running again. During an unsuccessful attempt, I'll get a windows error message that reads: christmas7_full.exe has stopped working correctly and windows is searching for a solution. So far it always eventually restarts, and on maybe 2 out of 10 attempts it did start the 1st time with no error message.

How interesting that all the positive comments are getting the negative votes; guess the "I hate wallpaper and screensavers" crowd is out in force today.

Thanks for another addition to my desktop. Merry Christmas!, Happy Hanukkah!, Peace Be Unto You, or Bah! Humbug!

Just checked vendor website for info. on vendors - no "About us".
The "Contact" link just gave a form for submission.

Checked who.is website, no info. on vendor or email contact from Godaddy hosting.

Stated server address as 208.73.211.249 and inactive.

Maybe I'm paranoid with brigand-hackers and NSA/GCHG/FSB............
Asking downloaders/installers to be extremely circumspect on this one.

Wallpapers are GARBAGE, whether animated, still photo, etc. They should NEVER be offered here, only practical items of use should be offered here.
This is a waste of time, space, energy (on pc's part) and if GotD has nothing of true value to offer us, then take the day off, guys; there's always tomorrow and there's 100's of other sites that have other cool free stuff to "giveaway" today.
Bah, humbug, all year round when wallpapers are offered.
Oh...and a Merry Christmas to all!

I was able to install the software on Windows 7 32 bit, but the performance of the animated wallpaper is very very slow. I have an Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHZ processor, and it should not this be slow on a dual monitor setup. This is a very nice Christmas sentiment from GOTD but the performance of something so simple like this needs to be improved. On the CPU cycle that is.

I think this is a great little Xmas screensaver! Many cynical comments here... I would be more prone to purchase this at $4.95 than at $7.95, though. For what it is, I would buy this for five bucks (e.g., similar to the price of a nice Xmas card), but not for a price that meant getting some change back from ten bucks.

Oops! It closed unexpectedly and I don't know why. Said it stopped working and did I want to close it or look online for a fix. No option for waiting. I had been playing a game through Big Fish and when I closed the game the wallpaper went with it.

I only use blank wall paper - but I would use this if possible on one screen at Christmas time.
Down loaded and run perfect and straightforward on
win 8.1.
Multi Screen - The “Stretch” choice gives a poor picture over three screens.
The “Fit” choice puts the same picture on each screen but does not fit the picture to any of my three screens - black at top & bottom of all screens.
The “Fill” choice is harder to describe - The centre screen is covered with the picture but it also overlaps the left & right screens by a small amount - the right screen picture starts/joins onto the overlap from the centre screen - with two screens just about usable .
The third screen has the overlap mentioned above plus one third black and half of the picture - not usable.

I suggest a setting where you can chose settings that are suitable for multi screen.

Very Nice! Installed on Win7 Pro just fine. Only suggestion is to make it easier to find and use. Had to go looking for the install directory to start wallpaper as I could find no shortcut anyplace. Happy Holidays!

Installed without problems on Win 8.1. Options are limited (no music, can't adjust the snowfall, etc.). However, with that being said, it is a really nice animated wallpaper.

@ #1-Disappointed. It is not a screensaver, it is an animated wallpaper.

Installed easily. I made a shortcut on the desktop, as I don't allow this sort of app to autostart on Windows startup. It is a pretty scene, and I will let it run till I get bored with it. All in all, probably worth $7.95, but with all the wallpaper available to Windows 7 and 8 users, I would never buy it. It works nicely, the graphics are adequate and the animation is nice and lazy. A nice animated wallpaper for those who use them.

#1 I see the Grinch is alive and well. In a sense GOTD gives us a Xmas gift everyday of the year and you just sound like some spoiled child who didn't get what they wanted from Santa. Celebrate the awesomeness that is this site, not complain because you didn't get Photoshop or a new Windows install for free.

Happy Holidays to one and all and thank you GOTD and all who post here!

Installed easily on Windows XP, sp3, 2GB RAM, c 2007, but then produced some problems.
While the browser was running, it pushed up CPU use from about 10% to about 60%, making the computer far less responsive. The extra CPU was curiously not associated with the program itself (1%) but with Windows Explorer, the browser and even the Task Manager itself in varying proportions. Another odd effect was that my BBC Radio Player immediately stopped, and would only restart after exiting the Animated Wallpaper.
Not well suited to older systems?

#1 . Disappointed? GOTD isn't a social benefit software company for people who can't afford their software. They are here to gather info for market research. Without feedback, whether positive or negative, on the software that is presented here they won't be able to receive anything of value to giveaway in the future. Our job for the gifts that we are given is to tell gotd whether the software is good or bad and if we've found any faults. Instead of moaning about not getting anything worthwile, try doing your job like Giovanni does everyday, and let the software company who spent a fortune producing your freebie a decent opinion. See if you got the courage to drag some of your family to your computer and see if they like this. My neighbour in the appartment next door, loved the last astrogemini screensaver, because she is still using winXP. Her computer is and old piece of charcoal and couldnt handle the screensaver properly so she had to carry on using the standard windows screensaver.
I'll go over to her computer and install this just for fun. I've installed this wallpaper and am a little disappointed that Animatedpaints can only create this with their wallpaper maker that they have given away here before. I could have done this by myself in 10 minutes with the wallpaper maker. I'll add it to the show, just for fun.
Merry Xmax Gotd.

Installed fine on Windows 7 64-bit, but it didn't create a desktop icon, so I had to open it via the start menu. The animation is nice, but there are no options to change it, to speed up or to increase the amount of snow, and there is no music. Overall, pretty boring. It is not a screensaver, it's an active wallpaper.

My general opinion of it, for $7.95, I wouldn't buy it. If it had more options or maybe even music, I might consider it, other wise, it's kind of useless and would eventually just be annoying.

Ok - I know I don't NEED a screensaver. With that said, a couple of things about this one.

Pros:
The install on my win 7 64x was super easy, and when I started it up there was no - screen flicker to black - no "of crap" moment when you wonder if it will crash your system.

No need to "register" or give your email address (not that that sort of thing worries me).

Nice settings page. The program will auto-start if you allow it (you do have a yes or no option.)

Graphics are pretty good - no weird shaped trees, etc.

You have an option to hide your screen icons while the screensaver is running. Right-click the system tray icon to exit, and all your desktop icons re-appear.

Cons:
No adjustment of the snowfall amounts, so you just get a "friendly" snowfall - no blizzard option. :)

I have dual flat screens and it showed up on both of them. An option to have just one screen show would have been nice.

No music - which is not really a "con," I was just expecting it from other screen savers from GOTD.

My opinion: I like the product because it didn't cause any system problems and, well, it is very nice looking.

Get it while it's free, and Merry Christmas!!
