CareUEyes 2.4.9 was available as a giveaway on August 19, 2025!
CareUEyes is a professional eye protection software. It can prevent digital eye fatigue (such as eye fatigue, pain, blurred vision, shoulder, and neck pain) and migraines caused by light stimulation caused by computer use.
Using CareUEyes at night can prevent circadian rhythm disorders and promote sleep.
Features:
CareUEyes has four main functions: Filter blue light, adjust the screen brightness, break timer, and focus. 8 preset eye protection modes can automatically filter blue light and control brightness. You can also manually set the color temperature and brightness of the screen to reduce eye strain.
The display always emits blue light, but blue light is a kind of light with a short wavelength, high energy, and is easy to flicker. Blue light easily causes eye fatigue, pain, and may play a role in the development of age-related macular degeneration (AMD). Blue light at night also inhibits the secretion of melatonin and causes sleep problems.
CareUEyes filters blue light by adjusting the color temperature. The lower the color temperature, the more blue light is filtered.
The brightness of the computer screen is best adjusted to the brightness of the surrounding environment, not too bright or too dark. If the screen is too dark to see the picture clearly, too bright will hurt your eyes.
CareUEyes supports the adjustment of all types of computer screens, and can also adjust multiple screens at the same time.
Note: You can enable the sunrise and sunset feature, CareUEyes will automatically adjust the color temperature and brightness of the screen according to the time.
Break timer
Use the 20-20-20 rule to prevent eye fatigue: every 20 minutes, look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds, and the CareUEyes timer will intelligently remind you to take a break.
Focus
Allows you to customize the size and transparency of the reading area, so you can easily stay focused and improve work efficiency while reading.

I use a calibration tool for my monitor (Spyder by DataColor), which loads an .icm file on the graphics card at startup. I tried your software and got strange results. Does your software work ok under such conditions?
Thanks.

Does this do anything that f.lux (which is free) has been doing for years?

Thank you for the good program!
The readme.txt says: "2) Free updates to future versions". This version now is 2.4.9.0.
Could you GAOTD please clarify for us what this means? Free Upgrade to a minor versions like 2.4.xx or does it also apply to upgrade to new major versions like 2.x or x.x for 1 year without loosing registered license?

The program is pretty nice. It allows me to change the brightness and color rendition of any monitor or all monitors at once. It is very inconvenient to change brightness in Windows.

Drek M, All monitors have brightness settings.

Yes, but adjusting brightness with monitor settings requires manipulating tiny buttons or knobs, if you can find the settings. And this program will change the brightness setting on all of your monitors at once. Also, I use a desktop computer, so TK's response about laptops does not matter to me. I find that filtering out some blue light reduces eye strain.

So basically this software can do anything that anybody with an IQ over 120 can do by themselves like grown ups.
It's like adding software to an MP3 player to change the volume.

Keya23,
Which is what a lot of utility software does, just provides a more user friendly and easier to use interface than Windows does saving users time and effort searching for the settings in Windows.
