Boot Disk option apparently requires you to know ALL the files required for a boot disk and then to place them in the box to be burnt on the "Boot Disk." Seriously? I will be uninstalling.

iwontell,

Would choosing "View/Classic Icons" give you what you want to see?

Easy-as-pie download and installation. I had a much older version of this program in the past, and was very pleased with it. I also have to thank BurnAware and GAOTD for making this program "instantly" registered!

I apologize, I read the change list incorrectly the first time off of the developers website. The changes are minor as would be expected with a .x release. I will give this a try. Thanks. Oh, and yes, developers do need to make some money, else they probably wouldn't be doing that for a job. :) Thanks for offering this package!

Is it compatible with FLAC files? I can't see which files it supports.

Reply   |   Comment by Erasmo  –  7 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (-2)

Erasmo,

From the Help File of the installed program:

"2. Click on the Add Tracks button, to select audio files you want to burn on the disc, or simply drag tracks from Windows Explorer.

·Tracks can be in MP3, WAV, WMA, OGG, M4A, AAC and FLAC audio formats.

·You can also choose an M3U playlist as a source."

So I think you are good to go!
Pat

Is there any chance of the download being changed to version 10.2? I really can't afford the upgrade to 10.2 (I am living off of disability right now) and it looks like a feature i would really like to use is in the 10.2 version. :(

Jim: version 10.1 -- the subject of today's giveaway -- was issued a mere six weeks ago so is still a very recent release. Version 10.2 was issued only last week, so hoping that it will be given away soon is hoping a bit too much: developers are like the rest of us, needing to earn a living.

I'm not sure what feature it is that you specifically need but Version 10.0 was a major revamp of Burnaware, and 10.1 and 10.2, enhancements of that build. The developer has kindly provided a changelog on its site; have a look at that (keeping in mind that there are always three paragraphs of text for each Burnaware version, the first relating to Free, the second to Premium, and the third to Pro) to see if you can find a compromise:

Just in case anyone's confused about which version (Free / Premium / Pro) offers what:

I've always found the free version to be one of the best out there.

Even the free version covers majority of my needs, but thanks for this GOTD - worth to install for me...

Install couldn't be simpler - no hoops of any kind. BurnAware Free is a very good, reliable program, so although I haven't tested this premium version, I'd be astounded if there were any problems with it.

BurnAware has always been my favorite disc burner program going back to when CDs were used more than digital music. Now it makes bootable discs for recovery or whatnot. Makes and burns ISOs which is real nice.
My suggestion to give it the ability to mount ISOs.
