I downloaded this program & enjoy the graphics. However the register box keeps popping up & is very irritating.

This screen saver is not bad. However, I find it rather boring and I would not pay that much for a screen saver when I can use what is already on the computer. I will leave it on the computer until it expires.

it is wll known that the dell 2405fpw monitor eliminated a contrast level setting adjustment otherwise that would be too easy to adjust and would not have bothered looking for info. Your comment on divx was included during a screensaver discussion and you posted a link, and that is where i found your comment on the bottom. It appears you are the one who seems confused. The contrast levels on the picture samples are obviously high since it does not show most stars but rather shows very black and fewer stars.

My comment only indicated that some info provided often leads to look for more info on the net and that is how I stumbled on the color panel. I am guessing you are either very a bitter senile person or some teengager with no skills. Again, you broght divx during a screensaver discussion. SHall I cut and paste it?

I will now keep an eye for mistakes that might attribute your lack of human skills and obvious a deep seated anger toward people, that you feel insulting comments like yours are acceptable. It just reflects you probably are from some backwoods environment. How can you keep insulting and say you mean no offense! You my boy, are one piece of work and recommend you get help asap.

#75, radiospotz, again, I meant no insult by what I said. You chose to publicly state that I said something which was very different from what I actually posted. I didn't take personal offense, nor did I think that you were a moron. A serious misinterpretation of printed material that could not be explained by simple reading difficulties implied a potential cognition problem. Now, maybe you were just very tired, but such issues can also indicate potentially serious medical issues, including such things as an impending stroke. Many people choose to ignore serious medical issues, and wind up paying the price in terms of long-term disability or death. So, people here can make whatever negative assumptions about me that they so choose, but if even one person who is experiencing some transient cognitive difficulties gets a medical evaluation which saves them irreparable damage, then it's well worth all the negative votes which I receive.

As for your display problem, you should take that up in the forums. The moon screensaver which was given away here actually does have many stars. First, I'm not sure that you're experiencing a problem. Again, it may go back to misinterpreting what I posted, which again concerns me. When you display a "sample", which I take to mean a screenshot, it is being displayed on your monitor with its brightness, contrast, and gamma settings. Therefor, the "sample" should look the same as if you were running the application on your computer, unless there was a difference in the gamma adjustment of the screensaver (not the video card) between your computer and the one that the image was captured on, which seems unlikely. Therefor, I conclude that you may be confusing the screenshots which I took of Solar System Moon 3D with those which I took of Celestia.

For adjusting your monitor in general, you should look up resources on the Internet. Most people have their brightness set too high, so blacks can look grey. How you should set yours depends upon the lighting conditions that are generally present when you use your monitor. The brightness adjustment is much more for setting black level than it is for setting peak brightness. Contrast determines the ratio between light and dark. Gamma is a video card setting, which some applications also have, which also affects luminance levels. You should adjust the basic controls on your display before messing with gamma at the video card level or application level. Application gamma settings are just to correct levels for that application, general gamma settings should be set via your video card's driver's user interface utility.

fubar, I only implied that offering information for other links and that is when i stumbled upon what I was looking for, yes, yOu were indicating people who enjoy other animations would enjoy.
I was trying to figure out how the samples look so black on the moon screensavers and my screen shows a lot more stars to the point of looking gray instead of black.
I will stay off the comments since I see you can get very personally insulting and recommmend other newbies to avoid it here to, since the climate can get very ugly. I mentioned I was a newbie and don't know what other applications can effect others so I thought since you were bringing up divx that perhaps it may have something to do with screensaverws too, since you brought it up during a screensaver discussion. So in other words you comment had nothing to do with screensavers. I still find the color panel very helpful.
As for you, I think people now see your true colors, you are not an asset here! Sometimes very little people feel very big when it's anonymous or not in person, but I doubt you would talk to me that way in person .

How is this free if the nag screen comes up each time the screen saver starts. I installed it within the time limit and it looked like it registered properly, but now the "unregistered" block comes up every time it comes on.

#65, radiospotz, while I'm glad you actually read what I post, your interpretation of what I wrote is so far off that it makes me wonder if you're on some kind of medication. I don't mean that as an insult, you should seriously check with a doctor to see if there's a problem; we're not talking about a simple vision problem. Many people have sleep apnea, which in addition to causing mental confusion, does as much damage as smoking something like at least a pack of cigarettes a day.

#56, haalam, the Astro Gemini screensaver manager can be set to run whatever screensaver you wish. You can also use the Windows screen saver manager to select whatever screensaver you want (since mine is Blank with power management, that's what I do). Just be aware that Astro Gemini has changed their screensaver shortcuts to point to their manager, so if you use their shortcut, it will again change your Windows default screensaver to be Astro Gemini's screensaver manager.

#22 - yes these screensavers at that location are free....that is if you like tons of spyware installed on your system. If you have many installed from there, do a spyware sweep and see. Beware of exclusive "free" screensaver sites. I work on computers as a sideline, and I have had to format and reload more computers as a result of installing "free" screensavers than any other reason.

One of this sites best features, is that you often pick up very valueable information from other commentors. Fubar mentioned that he believed divx improved his screensavers, so I went on a quest. Downloaded the divx and couldn't figure out how to apply it to the screensaver. I jokingly refer to myself as an expert newbie, so sort of expect this sometimes LOL.

During my quest...I ran across a site, indicating that Windows has a new color panel component for Windows Applet XP control panel !...Probably most of you knew about this, but I am a newbie, so it was very exciting news to me. I followed the link and whoa..yippie. It works well and has several profiles you can use and also customize step by step. This panel if very good if you are into photography and need accurate color. It is well known that the dell 2405fpw has inaccuracies that are very frustrating at times.

It is only 1.4mb and is only for xp, if you don't have Version 1.1 of the Microsoft .NET Framework, it will sense that and download that too. Those who already have the net framework will not have to rebood. Here is the page with more info and the Microsoft page link is provided there. Hope this helps a few and improve their viewing of screensavers as well. To me, this panel is one of the best add on components of windows xp in a long time!

I think some comment contributors take all this too seriously...after all it's just free software, not nuclear science. And I sense that most users who report performance problems with downloaded software from GAOTD probably don't have enough horsepower (graphics kickers, chip speed, etc.) to run some of the code requirements.
Astra32 is an excellent program that provides VERY detailed specifications of every area of your motherboard & system components.
I realize that you can't please every one all the time, but users of GAOTD should keep in mind that it doesn't cost a cent to look at the daily offerings & using them is voluntary. Don't like it; Delete it !

Not crazy about Astro Gemini screen savers. Their so called “manager” keeps changing my screen saver to one of the two of theirs I have, or to the manager itself, intermittently with no warning. Sorry, will pass on this one and probably the rest of their products.

All you need to do is go into your add/remove program and un-install that screen saver manager. Your screen savers will still work without that manager.
Matter of fact, everytime I get a free screen saver from Astro, before even looking at the screen saver, I go to add/remove programs and un-install the dumb thing.
Don't let that screen saver manager turn you away.
Overall, this is a nice screen saver. I give it 7.5 out of 10
Thanks once again GAOTD. team.

I paid $20 for the Serene Screen aquarium. It is so realistic and it makes this one look like a cartoon.

I think in the Aquarium mode this would make a suitable screensaver for anyone. The price is right, and so are the daily efforts of GAOTD. I appreciate what you do. IThanks a lot!

As usual with Astro Gemini I like the screensaver. I dislike the screensaver manager. I actually looked at it but decided to stick with the one I already have. The one I took the time to download and install. I prefer that to something that is forced upon me during an installation. One request is to put the screensaver manager uninstall back in the start program. Now I have to open the control panel or Glary Utilities to uninstall. Thank you GAOTD for a nice program. Thank you Astro Gemini.

My wife has Serene Scene. Came bundles with Goldfish, as well as marine aquarium. I installed the free 3D Bungalow screensaver on wife's orders. We both agreed this freebie didnt come close to being as good as Serene Scene she bought last year. Anyway, she said to delete Bungalow, she didnt like todays freebie, and neither did I. I dont like screemsavers anyway, but bungalow was sub par in our opinions.

All of you still having problems with EAZ should contact 'support'.
I would have appreciated though that the company had frequented this site during the GAOTD offering.

#15 PHil.... You are right...simaquarium....whoa...nice quality and it does look much higher quality ...but when looking at the two, for some reason, I think this one looks more natural ocean than aquarium, I think becuause it is darker.. which I think I prefer, but the qualilty of sims blew me away.

thanks for the suggestion. Oh..Do Not take #3 suggeston with any value since I found it not even choppy one iota, but ran smooth. If you read his comment and end up passing on this, you might be the loser and you can thank him for losing out.

I didn't have an aquarium ss so I'm happy to have this. However, being married with children, I also found the posters very unpleasant and offensive. Thank goodness I test ran it before my wife or daughter saw it. We're not all 12 here.

Otherwise, when set to the tank only view, very nice! I couldn't find anything for free this well done.

Though I'm open to suggestions!

Good Day to all of you.

Todays comments were driving me batty I tell ya! LOL..
I spent till 5am this morniing reinstalling programs on my main pc that I formatted for clean install (well maybe that makes me a lil batty to start out...LOL
I love smooth and fast running pcs', what can I say :-)

I love Aquariums and as I indicated above, I was prime ready for a nice screensaver, but who can you trust?...I mean, the comments were UP, no there down, no, they are up , no they are down...LOL ...sheesh...who you are you suppose to listen to?
Well me now....LOL...

Yeah, I was reluctant to download since I have tried a couple of genesis screensavers in the past and was not too delighted at all. Then of course the mix bag of comments here just about put the nails in that coffin, but since I have never ever been a follower, I rebelled and downloaded lol...

First of all, I demand and need a good resolution screensaver since I I default my 24 inch screen at 1920x1200 reso...not many screensavers or wallpapers make it this far, so I learned to really pay attention, but today many commentors got me dizzy. Oh...I have (2) 1 gig sticks of low latency corsair dual channl sticks, amd fx55 cpu and 6800gt msi graphics card. Not the fastest, but abover average I think?

Okay, downloaded and was really ready to delete, ...but ...oooh..the classic aquarium mode at slo-mo (more aquarium realistic to me, looks gorgeous and detail and sharpness very ver good. I disliked the bungalow mode, since it looked more like a video game quality to me, but the classic mode is great. Jerky...NOT AT ALL !

My conclusion, is that there are a lot of you out there that need to format to clean install to dump whatever conflicts you are having or maybe upgrade your card or maybe cpu. I am glad I decided to check it out and didn't listen to comments like #3 who garnered 34 postive comments for mis-information. LOL...good work...LOL.

#10...that use to be a nice screensaver, but now it looks horrible on a system like mine, and I do mean horrible, non acceptable shaking.

#23...you are absolutely right...Wow...those screensavers look absoutely fantastic. I downloaded the demo on my pc this morning. You are the man and one of those commentors that comments are accurate and can be trusted to be telling you the truth. This screensaver (genesis offering today) is a 2nd to that one. Kudos for sharing and sorry folks, didn't check out any others.

If you are not running a pristine pc, then the value of your comment will be inaccurate. If everyone could check out your pc's and if you feel it is running without conflicts and flys in every mode, then your pc is a good test bed.
OH...the screensaver no way deserves the poor rating it has so far and I apologize to Astro for the ineptness of todays comments. Although at first glance the bungalow mode might get one started toward the door, but the classic...hey...I am tickled pink to have it and I am now going to load it on a couple of other pc's.

Downloaded, activated and installed like butter.

Thanks mucho GOTD and Genesis....
Tip for Genesis..., change the bungalow setting to another water scene. It really does look video gamish looking.

I'm glad when GAotD offers screen savers, especially when they're as pretty as this one. I use my computer a lot, but not constantly. I don't want it to be just a box sitting on the desk when idle. Screen savers let me turn the monitor into a decorative piece of art when I'm doing other work.

Since I also like a lot of variety, these free screen savers let me have a lot of choice without costing me anything.

Thanks, GAotD!

Simply hit the off switch on the monitor when not using, Even companies should be enforcing this.

I don't know what everyone is complaining about... it's a SCREENSAVER, for goodness sake, not a real aquarium. You're not going to plant yourself 6 inches from the screen and chill to the fishies. It looks perfectly acceptable from a few feet away. This one I'm going to keep. :)
