An AI-powered object remover for videos and images.

Do you own a video camera? If so, then you probably have all sorts of uncut videos gathering dust on your hard drive. In our mind's eye, we envision someday taking all those video clips and fine tuning them into something cool; we never get around to it though. There are lots of reasons this might happen, but one of the biggest is not know how to edit video. Let's face it; the idea of video editing can be intimidating to anyone that's never tried it. Mainly because fancy, expensive video editing software takes a long time to master. The very thought of polishing old videos then becomes a question of "do I want to spend months learning how to do this? There must be a better way ... "

As for today's giveaway, already got this from one of the other free program sites last month. It works fine, but I ended up deleting it because I have a couple of better movie creators; still, if you don't have one already and need one to make something of all those home movies you've always meant to edit, it should do the job. You should still be able to get an earlier version of Adobe Premier Pro as a package with CS2 totally free. It's got lots of extra's; however, if you've never used a movie creator before I'd stick with this basic creator becasue Premier Pro can be confusing if you've never used a movie creator before.
:)
It's very basic compared to more expensive movie editors, but does includes the ability to split fragments of the video, zoom and highlighting effects, with 40 transition effects and over 50 other effects. You can adjust the brightness, contrast and saturation of each video clip you add and even add text if you wish. Sound can be adjusted for each segment added to the movie to bring each clip to the same volume. You can also cut and paste segments, and there's also options to add sound tracks to the movie, which is useful if you include those home movies where you're taking lots of silent panoramic views of your vacation destinations; an ideal opportunity to add some pleasant/appropriate music to set the scene and/or some voice overs giving it a documentary like feel; oh yeah, you can multi track as well, so, 'basically ' an all round movie creator.

The programs comes with seven language options, English, German, Polish, French, Spanish, Russian and Turkish. There's also an online help document that details how to Add Photo/Video to Project Library, Add Audio to Audio Library, Convert Video to another Format, Cut and Split Video, Set Transitions and Effects, Set Fading for Video Clips, Create and Add Text Comments, Text Settings Explained, Adjust Visual Levels, Adjust Audio Levels, Change Video Speed, Change Transparency, Rotate Video Clip, Create Virtual Screen Template, and finally Zoom to Selected Area of Video.

p.s. If you missed Sundays giveaway iCareAll PDF Converter 1.0, it is now available for free for the next couple of days from Ashraf's (Failmid) site. Out of respect for the giveaway team I won't post a link, but it is easily found via Google.

Whiterabbit-uk, Where exactly can I get Premier Pro for free ?

Reply   |   Comment by Evgeny  –  7 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (-7)

Evgeny, Adobe stopped running the licencing servers for CS2 so made a copy that didn't need them (i.e. no activation requirement) available for existing users (for reinstalls). People could just get it, install it and use it without an existing licence, but that is against the terms of use, so strictly piracy I guess. Adobe doesn't seem to be that bothered though, so far. Mac version is for PowerPC. My view is avoid it.

Reply   |   Comment by JohnL  –  7 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+8)

Evgeny, It's not very useful because it lacks support for the most current codecs; simply too old.

Reply   |   Comment by Jo  –  7 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+8)

JohnL, I did a research you can't get them anymore, all the links that point to the download page now redirect you to the trial download page of new products, maybe you could download older versions for free a few years ago, i'm late to that party.

Reply   |   Comment by Evgeny  –  7 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+2)

Jo, yeah it just old

Whiterabbit-uk,

Hi WR. YMMV, I don't know the UK or EU pricing, but Amazon *has* been selling VideoStudio Pro X9 Ult [current version] for $40. And Shotcut is free -- can download at videohelp[.]com. But what's been taking video editing by storm is the free DaVinci Resolve. redsharknews[.]com is putting together a set of tutorials on how to use it -- a few are already available.

Bolide Movie Creator OTOH is much smaller than those I mentioned [VideoStudio Pro X9 takes up several GB], or any version of Premiere Pro. And the ad copy tells the truth when it says their Movie Creator is easier to use -- Prem. Pro is hardly intuitive, & Resolve may be worse. It's also probably compatible with more input or imported video formats than the others [that can be a nightmare, particularly with AVC, where dropped or incomplete frames make audio sync near impossible (AVC commonly has no timing info)].

That said, the main thing Bolide needs to do to improve IMHO is get its rep squared away with companies like McAfee, which throws up a big red warning not to visit their site.

Jo,

" It's not very useful because it [Prem. Pro] lacks support for the most current codecs"

Importing different video formats is still a problem if you get the CC version -- in fact it's a problem in many [most?] video editing apps. Video format specs leave lots & lots of wiggle room, & depending on the original encoder & its settings, out of a dozen videos in the same format, it's very possible only one will work.

All you can do is try... If it doesn't work you can try another editor, or try to figure out how to convert the video you have into something that will work, ideally without re-encoding [there are lots of potentially useful tools at videohelp]. And if that's not possible, figure out how to re-encode it into a lossless format [e.g. UT Video Codec] that you can import & edit.

In fact Corel VideoStudio Pro X9 (formerly Ulead) has been sold for as little as Cdn$14.99 a couple of times over the last few months. I picked it up in the first of those sales. While it's a pretty complete video editor, I have to say that it seems a bit haphazard in organization, like it grew over time rather than being planned. Also in the few projects I've tried with it, I found a few small but key things frustratingly lacking. So overall, worth the low price, but not much more.
I'd rather have a simple package that gets the basics right, like ability to zoom at will in the timeline.

You would probably want to prevent the program from calling home or otherwise loose it due to the update, therefore I suggest that you go to Options>Quick Preferences, and untick the box "Check for updates weekly". I also made an adjustment in my firewall.

Cheers,

PHOOEY, if the program works on the abortion Vista, then why not on XP since over 100 Million intelligent people around the world STILL USE IT everyday - it does EVERYTHING that the newer MS Junkers can do - and in most cases EVEN BETTER.
Would liked to have tried this one but will get by with 3-4 others that do the job darn good.

I haven't had a chance to test this one yet, but I have several other programs from Bolide, and they're all good. And if you do have any problems, Max is very keen to help get you up and running again.

They may be busier than usual today just because of the Giveaway - that would make sense, after all! - but I managed to get the code very quickly, so I hope you'll have the same result soon. The e-glitch does seem to have been sorted now.

Thanks again to GAOTD and to Bolide and Max for what looks like a useful addition!

Downloaded and installed without issue, but uninstalled immediately, as, when it opened, it started 'importing" all my video files without asking any permissions whatsoever! I find invasive behavior of any program a security risk, and will not allow any such software on my system. I uninstalled immediately!

Installed on Win 10 Pro successfully. Entered emailed key successfully. But it will not run. Background process shows it's running, but nothing on the screen. When I hit the icon again, it says it's already running. I have cancelled the background process twice, also deinstalled/reinstalled it and rebooted. Same result. Deinstalling.

Looks like a great tool! I installed it with no hitch, and have toyed with it just a little but look forward to doing so more.

I downloaded this immediately when I learned it was from Bolide. I have been an owner and user of Bolide's All My Books for many years (I bought it full price from their website).

The company is top-notch. They have responded quickly to my questions, and once shortly after we dialogued a couple of years ago, they made an improvement to their product that I had suggested. Very pleasant people. They've never spammed me, and their newsletter emails - which I could opt out of but haven't - are infrequent enough and contain useful enough content that I actually read them.

Mario,

From that page you link to:
"Simple, powerful, and free video editor for Linux!"

The app itself isn't bad, but it's not up to semi-pro or pro standards by any means. For those that want to check out video in *nix, you can often find Live CD/DVD images [ISOs] that will boot your system into Linux, & have whatever video apps available.

The code has been sent to the specified e-mail address. In case you didn't received it within several minutes, check your Spam/Junk mail folder or use alternative e-mail to request a key.

Have waited up to an hour, (had code resent more than once), still no activation code email received, yes I checked my other folders as well.......

Had a quick look at it in Windows 7 and as stated in my comment #3 very limited functions #2 pretty well covers them all.
Last time it was offered it was about $30 now they want $40, if I had paid $40 for this program I would feel very cheated.
It's only claim to fame is that it is easy-to-use; worth $15 maximum.

Major drawback on such program, no dynamic trim by ends scrubbing.
Triming is done only by split and delete.
Very slow render and crashes often.

Really simple, uncluttered interface, much more easy to use then the previous video editor(VSDC) giveaway, but crashes on rare occasions when adding some video files to the timeline.

Allows install in XP but will not run.

Judging by their screenshots it's a rather limited video manipulator, but hardly a video editor, seems to allow text to be overlaid plus some effects.
VSDC, given away a few weeks ago, is half the price but much more powerful as is their free version.

Reply   |   Comment by McGregor  –  7 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+17)

McGregor, I got VSDC while it was up on GotD, and including the fact that you have to run it as Admin every time to want to start it (which means that you cannot have it pinned to your Start menu in Windows 10) it is the most infuriating editing program I've ever tried using.

installed and registered easy on Windows 10 home 64. basic editor with transitions and effect. split and merge, add audio and images. Although no Cyberlink powerdirector or Sony vegas it is ok for your basic home productions. Does a bit more but not much more than MS Movie maker. If you need a basic vid editor I can recommend, if you need a full fledged editor this is not for you. nonetheless I give it a thumbs up
