Windows 10 64 bit
It caused me problems that can be fixed only with a clean installation.
When I click with the right button of the mouse, the screen falls for a while , then nothing happens.

If you miss out on this offer you can always use Xnview. It's free and does all that this does. There is a portable version too.

Super-clean, clear interface, and it does exactly what it's supposed to do. Great program - this one's a winner! Thank you so much, GAOTD and Pearl Mountain Software.

I'm pleased with another offering from Pearl Mountain. This program does what is says. Easy to use, simple interface, and with great results. Yes there are other programs out there that may perform similar tasks, but this one is quick and simple. Some commenters seek a more comprehensible program with numerous extras beyond this offering, but this Image Converter fits my needs, as well as many others. I don't spend my days converting images, but when I need to, this will be the one I will use. It's a keeper!

Thank you Salvia for your excellent reviews and comments. I am sure they are also much appreciated by other visitors to this site.

As far as today's giveaway is concerned, I'd rather recommend an amazing-and free program-called Fastone Image Viewer 5.5, which does what this giveaway does and much much more, which includes functions like cloning, healing, red eye removal, color adjustemnts, lossless jpg rotation, to mention just a few of them.
There are numerous youtube tutorials about Fastone Image Viewer.

Its smaller brother-Fastone Photo Resizer-allows users to convert, resize, crop, rotate, change color depth of images, batch rename, batch watermark, and perform other operations, just make sure to go to advanced options to access some of these functions.

Just my 2 cents.

Cheers,

consuela

consuella,
Thank you so much for your comment.

At times it can be very disheartening when you write a factual and true account of some aspect of computing and it attracts a flurry of 'No's' because people don't like the truth.
When the truth can't be allowed to stand on its own there is very little point in discussion, no wonder a number of regular contributors have disappeared.
End of rant!

The program Fastone Image Viewer 5.5 looks really interesting and well worth having a look at, thank you.

Mothman, I think the link you wanted was http://faststone.org/FSResizerDetail.htm
I have used Fast Stone for years and it is the easiest, simplest and IMHO the best out there and as you say, it is FREE and each to their own.

You will be telling all your friends about this program if you have not already found and used it!
Photoscape: It does not chop, shred or peel anything but you will be amazed at how much it does,

Image Converter 1.2.8 is very limited in its range of formats. ReaConverter Lite offers similar formats for free, but their Standard version converts from 589 formats to an adequate range of 54 file formats at discount price of $37.50 (if you look for the discount codes).
Both vendors, in my opinion, are too pricey as I can convert files using other full editing software in the SAVE AS or EXPORT TO mode.
Missing from today's free offer are formats such as EPS, DRW, CGM,Ai,SWG,SWF,WMF and RAW formats. So to sum it up: It is a handy converter to have in my already overloaded toolbox but totally inadequate for my needs. I will keep it as it does not use much memory or resources.

DenisX,

If you want to overload that toolbox even more, XnView is "provided as FREEWARE (NO Adware, NO Spyware) for private or educational use (including non-profit organizations).", & supports 500+ formats. There are 3 packages, one with no plug-ins or add-ons, one with just a few, & one with everything, & all 3 are available with or without an installer. There's also a version at portableapps[.]com . xnview[.]com

mike, I already tried XNview Converter, thanks, but alas it is also limited in its list of formats. like a lot of file converters on the market this and others mentioned here only do the more popular file formats.
If someone wants to convert the odd file they have that is not readable by file viewers such as Ashampoo Photo Commander, Zoner Photo Studio etc, then a free converter will suffice.
If you want to pay for a converter for more serious use such as converting loads of files on a regular basis then you want one that converts just about everything to everything. In other words it covers ALL the little known or special formats that software programmers like to use a lot that could only be used in their software. In my case I have 1,000s of bought files containing images in various formats. Ai and PSD files for instance can not be read by viewers as thumbnails are not generated, and need to be opened by Adobe or similar software just to view it. To get around this I convert (copy) the file to PNG format in order that a thumbnail can be generated along side the original file so that I know at a glance what the image looks like.

Often when there is a simple registration procedure the program itself is often easy to use.

This didn't happen in this case; a pleasant and simple looking interface that was surprisingly clunky in its use, that is it didn't behave as I expected it to when selecting image, once I got over over this initial confusion it wasn't too bad.

Tested a few of the functions available, Corrections, small change in the sliders cause large changes in the image and the sharp function was pretty horrendous in what it output.

There's nothing subtle and there was no finesse to this program, certainly nothing like I would expect that such a high price.

A small collection of free programs will do everything this one can and most of them do it better.

Salvia, After reading your comments I tried the program again and played with all the effects and sliders. Other than finding the sliders needed to be moved very gently, all the effects worked as I expected and the resulting photos were very good. I am using a Win 10/64 system and am very happy with the prog. I will agree that it seems a bit over priced normally.

4BunnyRabbits,
Thanks, recently we have had some superb image manipulation programs on this site, reasonably priced for what they do and this is the competition this developer is facing.
For instance Zoner, not a program I have been too keen on in the past, is now a really nice piece of work is $99 if you pay full price, just over twice as much as today's but with 20 times the functionality and ease of use.
To me it looks like today's developer trying to make a program that does a number of functions that a beginner can use, that way they justify the price. It fails miserably this aspect it doesn't do the work well nor is it easy-to-use.

Uninstalling my copy as it doesn't perform well enough in any of its functions.

Salvia, I too like Zoner and Photo Director but find they have too many functions squeezed on to one screen and unless you are using the programs all the time tend to be confusing for quick every day use. Today's offering has all the simple little things that I tend to use on a daily basis in one simple uncluttered interface. I like the ability in today's prog to add a variable width, variable colour border around my photos. If I want to do some serious work on an important photo I will always use something like Zoner . But for a simple little freebie (at today's prices) this is a winner.

4BunnyRabbits,
True a nice simple and clean interface, sadly rather messy in the way it works, a shame.
It is only version 1 point something and hopefully my comment will help them to improve things.
But, this is a $40 program and it should act like a $40 program!

Another great program from Pearl Mountain, nice clean look, very nice features, everything I have tried works very well. A definite keeper for me.
One small 'smile', on entering the edit profile section and entering my country, it asked for a state and gave me all the states of America or 'other'. to chose from.
