I was still unable to save any custom channels from YouTube. The save option is greyed out. I got the flag tip, but was still not able to record anything.

Does the SE version allow recording video streams?

Someone commented that the SE is the full version, but I can't find video record as an option.

Not sure why this is called SE but it is full of functionality that seems to be in the full version.

It is a bit fiddly with getting things to work - the streaming and downloading took a few tries - plus it would have helped if I had read the instructions (which were a bit hard to find - a possible suggestion for improvement but not a killer?).

Michael Nix, I was not clear in what I was searching for in terms of "instructions". The install instruction were, as you so clearly point out, were not hard to find in the zip file and were very clear.

What I was referring to is the instructions/help on how to use the application - such as recording a video stream, or finding stations or how to download...the online help was there but I had to be very specific about my search terms. It was fun though because I ended up reading about the software and found some other really neat functionality and how to use it. So again, great software...thank you for the offering.

Why would you use such a complicated program. Music files can always be downloaded from YouTube, not a shred of trouble. You only need a WaveEditor to remove the commersials in the beginning and end. If necessary with in- or outfade. From DAB reception you do not have to download music, because a disc jockey is usually busy whining through it.

Pamela Davies, YouTube is not the only game in town. There are hundreds if not thousands of other sources of music, movies, and TV on the Internet.

Kurt, Plus YouTube is over compressed. You're actually getting really low quality from youtube no matter what another program claims the quality is. All that's happening is upscaling from YouTube.

If you rip music from a Youtube video the qualiy is quite low. That is why i prefer to download original mp3 music files, which are sometimes hard to find. The easiest way being to use a specialized software like AudFun Spotify Music Converter, given on GAOTD some months ago...thanks again for that.

Kurt, I only download music from YouTube, that there are thousands of other or more sites that offer music does not interest me.

Pamela Davies, The biggest selling point of Audials in the last few years isn't youtube, it's being able to download from Hulu, Amazon Prime, Netflix, and other video streaming services. That feature is unfortunately lacking from this giveaway(abd I believe ALL Audials giveaways)

M Ray, You can record the song(s) you are playing by clicking on the 'tags' symbol (or other symbols there at the time eg. right now I'm listening to a Canadian radio station and it shows a Canadian flag there instead of the tag symbol) in top right corner of the play window. There you will find a record button and/or a list of options which includes 'record'. And you can save favourites as well shown as 'favor'... I'm sure you've now found all this since posting this.

Mark, Uh, yeah man. I don't think this giveaway has the video recording part. As you quoted the Audials description? "Record movies, series and television from streams." Yeah right. If you're gonna quote something, make sure it's valid. Otherwise explain where they are. OK?

Michael Nix, You can watch a movie from Netflix on Audials SE by inserting the URL in add custom channel, but it seems you cannot record it. I suppose you can in the upgrade version only which I haven't purchased. They should have stated that here in their description for SE.
