While I had no trouble installing. It did take awhile as it’s packaging is a bit big. No trouble activating since I already use the app. It is a bit confusing on how to download stuff though. It’s also hit n miss on what it will allow you to download from. I had more fails than successes. Especially with YouTube. The artist I typed in is very well known but yet had few available downloads from YouTube. Not sure how it would work on other programs like Amazon or Spotify. Otherwise it seems ok, was able to save it to my portable hard drive so I could save space on my pc. Thankfully it’s a lifetime license! But there are easier ways to this than thru Audials. So it’s still a keeper for me.

Nice looking, and easy to use. Unless you only want to listen to the really big names, those it will actually find. If they aren't a major player, good luck finding them. Even major names don't always work very good. Even typing out the band name and song, it has a tendency to bring a lot up except for what you typed in.

Not impressed by its search function. I searched for myself (not here to promote my music, so I'll just say the first name was 'Kevin') and only one person was listed, with all of his songs - but not the same surname that I typed. No other people called Kevin was listed.
Tried searching for just 'Kevin' and got someone else, but again no other people listed, just one with the first name 'Kevin'.
I tried my band name and got a different band with that name, but no others.
I tried my pseudonym, which is unique, and got one song only, even though I have many songs with that name.
How on earth are we supposed to find the artist we are looking for?

Download went easy enough. Followed the prompts to create a new account. Gave it a try on a couple artists to test it, but now everything for recording keeps staying it failed. However, when you go to view the "link" where the song is on YouTube, it plays just fine. Not sure what is going on. Logged out and back in, yet still the same problem. Tried numerous artists but no luck.
I also cannot tell if this is the GOTD edition or licensed copy. It does seem like a "trial" due to all the "upgrade" pop-ups and banner. Maybe that is just me though. Anyone else having the same issue?
Other than the issues explained above it is a nice clean interface. Nice how you select an artist you enjoy and it has links to others that are similar. Great way to find out about other artists who may have a similar feel or sound.

Joshua, You will be asked to activate the program first time you login. After that your computer's name/ip will be registered on audials. The upgrade banner may promote other products or new versions of the same in the future. Check for updates for bugfixes.

Zed, Thanks for the info. I did click on the top left 3 dots (menu) and saw the update. Clicking on that it told me I would receive a year of free updates to the software. I allowed it, which the program downloads and updates itself instantly. That is great. The only issue I have now is that all the recordings keep failing even with the update. Not sure if the default "10 downloads at a time" causes issues between my IP and YouTube? I'll try it later on today to see if it will allow me to download.

Joshua, you can deactivate popups, discount offers and other things in the settings.
Just press on the 3 dots in the top-left corner and then go to "General" tab and press "Customize..." button.

Joshua, I haven't tried the program myself perhaps the program rec in real-time (simulating playback mode) to avoid blocking. I tested a album download moments ago it was fast for audio, the video rec was downloading almost at playback buffering speed (slow) but it did not fail. Are you on a wireless connection? check and tune mtu settings/signal/packet loss or use a wired connection.

On New acct. it has me re-entering the captcha image letters over and over and I get an Unexpected Error and eventually a Try Back Later Message...

DrPseudo, Try any of the following.. resync computer time, power cycle your router. Disable any network security features like peerblock/firewall/vpn clear dns cache.

Zed, Stiil get the same thing as stated above... I don't usually have any problem... I get all the way to entering the Captcha and it s me doing it over and over and still get Errors and try back later...
