Thank you, it is a very nice word processor, with a lot of options.
But, I cann't find a Right to Left option, (used by Arabic or Hebrew)

It does not support fused letters because it fails to display the right cursor position in case of fused letters. So, it's good only for languages not having any fused letters.

This is a great program! I can't believe all the options it gives us, including aesthetic and fun options, as well as practical ones (some of which aren't even available at all in most other word processing programs.) Great Giveaway; many thanks!

It is better if you are completely bare if you want to use Atlatis Word processor. Then you don't have to pull your hair out of the annoyance of the complicated menu.

What a great reply to John Clarke by the GOTD team. An understanding of the problem and then no snide comments - just a polite and friendly explanation that hopefully solved the problem for Mr Clarke. Sadly, this friendly reply is all too rare these days and a good many web sites could learn from it. Well done to the GOTD team for a great response.

grompical, and you too are Awesome with a very tackful response. You Are Awesome. I just downloaded and this one didn't even need us to get an email and it automatically registered. It is Lifetime too so I linked all my extensions to this program so it will auto open word docs. Nice!

Othello86,

OpenOffice4 will read any Word document and can create and save save documents as any Word, Excel, etc. document. If Atlantis isn't right for you That may be the answer for you and it is open-source.

QUESTION: Can others read the documents Atlantis produces if they don't have Atlantis installed? Compare to Word docs that can't be read without word installed.
What is the output format for Atlantiis docs?

thank you. Any kind reply appreciated!

I'm giving this a thumbs up over the vast majority of the 'free' processors because I have yet to find any, even most paid ones, that can handle envelopes like this one can. I'm just an old man who sends out a few bills a month via snail-mail still, but this saves them from my handwriting.

If you have already installed Atlantis on your PC,

1. Launch Atlantis on your computer as usual (if it is not running yet).
2. Run the "Tools | Install to Removable Drive..." command, and follow the onscreen instructions.

(Except this choice is not included in this offered version.)

This version includes "Install to your PC" which is silly because it's already installed on the PC. Kind of a bait and switch feature I considered heavily when uninstalling it.

Thank you GOTD and Atlantis for this latest update, and I was surprised as update 4.1.6.4 came out just a month ago. Which shows that this publisher is always working hard on keeping the program bug free and up to date. For the average person, this Atlantis Word Processor has all the features that is needed in a word processor, and it works well with most documents. You can even make it sound like an old-fashioned typewriter, and pretend you are a famous author clacking away.

As I mentioned for the average person, there is no bloated need for MS Word, Libre Office or any of those open office or Microsoft Office programs (which I have tried and removed, having no use for all that), just this marvelous word processing program, with its small footprint. I am sure there are those that will be miffed that I think ALL office programs are just bloat ware for the average person (and if you are one of those miffed type, please do not bother). As an average person, I personally have no desire or need for making math tables with graphs aka Excel for anything, or to think about publishing anything (unless all of you ask for my memoirs), or making personalized PowerPoint presentations for, hmmm, maybe my pets (PowerPoint for Pets, that would be a PPfP?), or need to have an office program connect to my email, or have my office program connect to some groups (skype) app so I can speak to a relative via pc (guess I now really do not need my iPhone, but I am just wondering how to take a selfie with some office program?).

Even the GOTD install is simple and no problem, as it is always pre-registered, and I never have had a conflict doing so. It's been so long since I first found this nifty Atlantis program, that I forgot how many years it has been, and it always been installed on every new laptop (though I am sure you would enjoy it on your desktop).

Try it for yourself, and you will most likely agree to all the other positive reviews, and how well Atlantis Word Processor does its job. Again, thanks GOTD and Atlantis.com for the latest update and this wonderful word processing program.

"... for the average person, there is no bloated need for MS Word, Libre Office or any of those open office or Microsoft Office programs..."

Like Atlantis Word Processor & use it on our lower end [read cheaper] devices with limited storage, but FWIW, it seems you ignore the OneDrive storage, Clipchamp, & upcoming Designer that can make Office 365 worth the 1/2 price sales to some very average folks such as myself. :)

Reply   |   Comment by mike  –  2 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (0)

mike,
Thank you for the reply. You mentioned ignoring something, I see you ignored what I said and the content of what I meant, including the miffed part. I ignore nothing, I see all, umm, what was your question again? (<<< Isn't that all too familiar)

"Microsoft is also getting rid of its video editor in favor of Clipchamp. As part of the next wave of enhancements for Windows 11", "Clipchamp is now a Microsoft company and soon all Clipchamp users will be required to log in using a Microsoft account. Connect Clipchamp with your Microsoft account today for a seamless experience while using Clipchamp alongside other Microsoft offerings like OneDrive." << that is a direct quote, no need for an office program. Btw, I am nobody's champ and never try to be.

OneDrive, I have it disabled in W11 and in my 17" Aorus i7, 32G ram, RTX 3080, 300hz display, mechanical keyboard, [let's use your word] "read" expensive laptop, or my 15" Asus i7 8th gen "read" was expensive backup laptop, blah blah. If I require storage or backup of my computer or files, my multitude of external USB or Type C of various TB drives will do the trick, and no internet needed. No Office app needed for OneDrive either, only a Microsoft account, just saying.

As for the upcoming Designer, wait for it, wait for it, I missed it, oh well (must have fallen asleep waiting..ZZZZZ). I am now thinking (I do that on occasion) even at half price for Office 365, I can instead take that money and go buy a wireless mic and receiver for my iPhone, connecting that iPhone to one of my two phone gimbals, and go out and have some outside fun taking foolish videos of myself. I think that is healthier and more gooder then constantly sitting at a computer thinking of ways to use Office 365 or Libre Office, etc. Or take that money and go out for Chinese food, YAAAH!!

Oh, did you know, if you want to have someone (i.e., share) pick up a giga file online, you can use the free We Transfer service, and it stays up for 7 days. Which is perfect, as the thought of always being "out there", does not sit well with me, and after 7 days, file goes bye bye. Suffocating seriously, all the above apps, the average user has no use for it (user...use...??? hahaha, that was funny), and who wants to be constantly connected to Microcrap, or that Giggle company, ("Alexa disconnect me from Prime Videos, and the net now!")

Alright, I need to say this, "if Mikey likes it, every(average)one should like it!!" (Trying to keep a straight face typing that) But, do you know what is not average, Atlantis Word Processor, it giga rocks!! "Give us an A, give us a T, give us a L, give us a ..... come on everyone finish the cheer, just like those good ole high school sports games".

Any ways, thanks for the fun time mike, it was a hoot typing this out. Hmm, again talking about ignore, why did I not ignore your reply (??), hahaha, who cares it was fun, have a great day, et Bonne Chance mon ami. ;-)

I've been using Atlantis Word Processor for years now and absolutely love it. It has many features that I don't use, but the fact that it can be run off a USB drive has really come in handy, and I love the small footprint it has compared to the bloated MS Word.
I love it so much that I finally purchased it in support of the company.

From a previous offer here I was introduced to this program. It is a relatively simple processor to use but has many more features and abilities then lesser programs, though it doesn't come to the level of the free Libre Office Suit, it does, as they state, offer enough options for pros or those using word processing seldom. One feature I particularly enjoy is the ability to install any template (such as Avery's labels) simply by dropping the file in the template folder. Much easier then many - which makes it my 'go to' program for labels. Needless to say, I purchased it simply for future updates.

The option to get the download link via email has suddenly stopped working. It happened most recently today with Atlantis Word Processor but also on the two previous times I tried to download a programme.
Have you any suggestions why I am not getting the emails?. I have checked the Junk Mail folders.
I don't use Facebook so that is not an option.

Thanks
