I have yet to find a screen capture app that can handle scrolling screen capture accurately. They can generally make a good fist of it when only vertical scrolling is involved. But when it involves vertical AND horizontal scrolling ie when an image is partly off-screen horizontally as well as vertically, that's when they fall down. Even Snagit, which is probably the best commercial software of this kind, cannot always hack it. My understanding, and I could be wrong about this, is that the problem is not so much that the third-party software has short-comings but that the data generating the off-screen portion of the image may not always be accessible/ available to the software.

Mike, if you're looking in, perhaps you might kindly comment on that as from past contributions you seem to be very knowledgeable on the technical side of computer image/ video generation.

Fireshot-firefox extension will let you take screenshots. You can select what part you want and either save, print, or make it pdf. The free version works great there is also other options if you want to buy it. I use it frequently and have never had a issue.

Looks like the only way to enter anything is to login to facebook? Shouldn't have to if you like their youtube or subscribe to newsletter. How about the few of us that DON'T use facebook. I have an older version of snap and it is a great program.

Windows 10 laptop, print screen button just failed tonight. Caused huge issues and I was just searching for a free download of quick and easy no bells attached screen shot software... coincidentally got this email! Couldn't believe the coincidence - utter JOY!!!! But failed in my excitement to notice it was this 'join and win'... never actually seen that before, such a shame it wasn't the usual fantastic GOTD gift of free software! :( If anyone can recommend a free screen shot program I'd be most appreciative, cheers.

Well, I tried Greenshot and I can't uninstall it. It has incorporated itself into my Gadwin screenshot program and has taken it over. It also launches automatically at startup (there's no way in the preferences to undo this) and if you try to get rid of the program it says it's already running. I'm stuck with this thing.

Did you try using Revo Uninstaller free edition ?

Another way to stop the program from running ,
or even stop it from starting when booting , is to
use another free program called Anvir :

It's a task manager that allows you to stop any
program , that you don't want , from loading
during boot .
If you spend some time to explore it , you will
discover that it can do a lot more .

Hi, JEDIGEG, I was successful when I moved the program's .exe file elsewhere so it wouldn't find it when I restarted the computer. Thanks for your ideas.

Andrea, well ... that's another way to do it ... :-)
Good thinking .
But , if you want to use the program from time to time ,
Anvir is the way to go and if you want to blast it away
permanently , Revo Uninstaller is one of the best free
programs to use .

To avoid any misunderstanding , I am not related
