A few things to consider about Ashampoo. When you register with them, they keep track of your serial numbers. If you purchase programs from them, you can download the install files. But on a give away, they don't maintain the files. If you want to install any programs at a later date, you better keep the give away installation file.
After you install any Ashampoo program, open up the notification tab. If you do not want to receive emails, uncheck all the items and save your preference.

I already have a previous GOTD version of this program from 2018 . . . Should I uninstall it before installing the newer version, or will it install right over the older prorgam?

If you have an account with Ashampoo, the version you are using now will appear under "Licenses". If you still prefer the one you're using now, you can always reinstall that version as the license number is stored.

It was my understanding that once I uninstall it the license will no longer work because it was a GOTD offer.

AndreR, AShampoo is one that saves all your serial numbers - the one and only - I've reinstalled a few over the years- even to different computers. And yes- I've bought from them too- so maybe they are smart enough to see that!!

In the past, yes, but I've tried later giveaways where the license was limited to one copy of Windows. Ashampoo Burning Studio from February 2022 is an example -- activation worked *only* on one copy of Windows, and when I wound up buying the current version, there was an extra charge for an additional license for another copy of Windows on another PC/laptop.
