Hi Everyone,
I downloaded and installed Ashampoo Photo Commander 11.1.8 on my AMD, Windows 7 64Bit PC with no problems, Or, Issues at all! Registration was very fast as I have an account with Ashampoo GmbH & Co for many years and have 20 some different applications from them! As soon as I entered my E-Mail Address it just asked me for my password and after that the Registration Number popped up in a window on there site and just copied it to the "Enter Registration Number" Line in opening box when the program was launched! And it was done and up and running in a few seconds. I Basically upgraded from the earlier version given away on GOTD on 08-06-14 and was version 11.
I have been using Ashampoo Photo Commander since version 7 and really like it a lot! It is not quite as complex as Photo shop etc. But, Is a lot easier to use and does a very good job on most all of my photo needs. It is also a hole lot cheaper! (o; It has a lot of nice "Auto Correct" Features that work very well and is a great program for the novice photographer and the professional as well. I have been doing professional photography for over 15 years and I don't consider my self a Pro-Professional because I learn new techniques and ways of doing things every day. (o;
Over half of all the Ashampoo software I have is life time paid registration and I will probably buy a full licenses for Ashampoo Photo Commander 11.1.8 very soon, As I think all there software is very good and well worth the asking price they ask for any of it. Every one of there programs is very easy to use and has about all of the features you could ever ask for in what ever the program is use for! Like there CD-DVD-ROM Burning utility is very good and easy to use.
As for there E-mail bombardment some users complain about? I have Never seen any problem with there e-mail notices! On average I get 2 or 3 E-mails from Ashampoo in a week! Or, 7 Days time! If I am not interested in it? One Click and its deleted! Big deal! Most of them are adds for sale news and updates on software I already have! And I like getting them! In the next few weeks I will indubitably get an E-mail for Ashampoo Photo Commander 11.1.8, To buy the full license at half price! That's when I will buy it! So, I don't understand this "Bombardment" of E-mails from Ashampoo? They have valuable information as far as I am concerned! And, Every E-mail has an option to "Stop Receiving" E-mail from Ashampoo! So, If you do not like to delete a few E-mails a week and don't want to receive them? One click and its done!
Also, When you launch one of there programs they have a box that pops up telling you about an update for that program, Or, Sale Price! There are 3 boxes on the bottom that say (Download and install now?) Or, (Remind Me Later?) Or, (No Thank You!) Click on the one you want and its done... I just do not see the problem? If you buy a full license they only tell you when there is an upgrade to the software! And I would think you would want to get that anyway right? I appreciate the notice! So, I know what is new and available, Just my 2.5 Cents! (o; NO! I do NOT work for, Or, I am NOT affiliated with Ashampoo in any way shape or form.
All and All I think Ashampoo Photo Commander 11.1.8 is a keeper and I give it 2 Thumbs up! (I Need more thumbs for this one!) (o; I thank Ashampoo GmbH & Co for releasing Ashampoo Photo Commander 11.1.8 on GOTD for FREE today! If you have a need for a good photo editing software? This is your chance to try it out for FREE! I would get it now while the offer is still ON!
As always a special thanks to everyone at GOTD for all your hard work in binging us Geeks, Great Software to Try, Test, Revue, And Use, For as long as we like for FREE! Thank You!
To everyone, Hope your having a very Happy New Year! Take Care, Always Have FUN!!! Rick D.

It's not the same ashampoo like few years ago. Now it is always trying to install some extra software similar to malware, full of ads. Than You have to register and log-in their web site and remove few default subscriptions.
This is not a good way to gain new customers.
Best regards
Adam

This couldn't have come at a better time for me. A relative of mine gave me an old tired and battered photograph of great sentimental value and asked me if I could clean it up. I'd tried various programs all with varying results. Today's offering was heaven sent, the results whilst not 100% perfect are as close as you can get. So a million thanks to AShampoo and GOTD. My relative was thrilled with the results.

Click on "get free key" and nothing happens. Is it supposed to open a browser window or a pop-up window? Perhaps my box is set to not display a pop-up. I've spent enough time on this, and I really don't need any more photo software. I was only going to look at it because it is free. Wouldn't buy it if I had this much trouble with a trial. Thanks for the offer, Ashampoo and GAOTD.

I use the v8 that was given way back and along with Irfan View4.35, also along with Faststone Image Viewer 4.6.
This combination never failed me in image editing and viewing.
I havn't used v8 fulltime and i downloaded this just to keep it, in case i might use in future.

But i really want to see a File Explorer being developed from Ashampoo.
Just a thought.
Anyways thank you guys for this.

Surprisingly (to me) comprehensive image management program from Ashampoo, and an exponential improvement on earlier versions I tried some years back.

Kudos to the development team responsible for this version: a helluva lot of thought has gone into creating something which, like all the best software out there, has a multitude of talents, not all of which are evident on first encounter. What's especially noticeable is the care that has been invested in ensuring a satisfying user experience for even the downright novice: controls, menus, sub-sets and options are cleverly arranged, with plenty of in-program help readily available.

Mention should be specifically made here of the "Effects" (including line-art transformation and oil painting rendering), image manipulations which are actually sold as standalone apps by other developers yet which are no more competent than these included here by Ashampoo.

Verdict: Photo Commander 11 ain't Photoshop CS, nor does it pretend to be. But though light in operation, it's actually anything but a light-weight in terms of accomplishment and performance. There will, as ever with Ashampoo, be the irritant of up-sell screens and, unless you're using server-side spam intervention, marketing emails which you may not wish to receive (in which case, see the user control options in your Ashampoo account). But the irritation factor is brief and low compared to the enjoyment to be derived from a commercial product which has evidently been refined with care over the years.

Recommended to all, then, and especially anyone nervous of plunging into the world of digital post-processing, because as an introduction to that world -- and as software which, for many, will do just fine as the sole go-to from now on in -- today's giveaway is definitely in the must-have category. Thanks, then, to Ashampoo and to GOTD.

* NOTE: after installing, make sure that you go through the quick 'n easy step-by-step "preference setting" sequence provided by Ashampoo for this software. It's a good example of what class-act software should be, and in marked comparison to Wondershare's appalling behaviour in not only bundling an unwanted unnecessary video player into some of its image-related apps, but Wondershare's arrogant hijacking of all your file associations, too.

There are two decoders & two codecs in the 'Plugins' section. Clicking on "...Download More Plugins..." doesn't launch anything except a revolving cursor. This page, https://www.ashampoo.com/en/usd/pad/1418/multimedia-software/Ashampoo-Photo-Commander-10, suggests that there are no other plugins, though it concerns an earlier version of the software. More information about this would be helpful.
Concerning 'skins', it seems there are two, 'Dark' & 'Default'.

Thank you, to Ashampoo & GOTD, for this giveaway.

Ashampoo is a well known and respected German company with many excellent products, I have been using few of their programs for years and quite happy with that . Honestly I was going to buy this one with two other photo programs tomorrow because they gave me a good discount on them as an existing costumer, now I don't have to . Thanks Ashampoo and GOTD

As noted above, at that point Ashampoo tries to open your web browser. Sometimes that can be a problem. Opening popups can be annoying, so it is blocked by some security settings. Sometimes your browser settings are so unusual (meaning, you selected settings for personal preference or security, and their installer didn't anticipate those settings) that you'll have trouble.

Check your web browser to see if by chance it opened in the background while this program was in front of everything. Otherwise, try other settings for default browser, or perhaps set your browser to not use the Modern Interface or security settings that block popups. Or contact Ashampoo's support and see if they can help, and thereby get the installation program for their next update working better.

An excellent program, as many have said. It is fast to load, unlike, say, Photoshop, which takes a while. I especially appreciate the quick fix feature, which does a good job in my tests. You can select from a list of what you want to fix, (color, contrast, sharpening, etc), or let it do everything at once. There are lots of 'fun' filters and frames and whatnot if you like to dress up your photos. (I don't and didn't test them.) Overall a definite keeper.

A warning though - pay attention while installing - you need to opt out of the added installation of unnamed 'highly rated' programs. (I didn't see an opt out for the promotional emails.) Also, it will set itself as the default program for all of your media. If you don't want that, when you first run it the 'Welcome Wizard' will give you other choices.

Agree. Except for Adobe Photo Shop, Zoner is the most powerful photo editing software I've used. Todays giveaway is OK and a good choice for some users, but not as powerful as Zoner.

I purchased this over a year ago and not long after I purchased this I reset my computer back to it's factory settings. So, after re-installing the software, it won't accept my license. I've asked for help, through their support system, several times and I've been ignored. I purchased it and now I can't use it.

WARNING!! Once you activate this and get into ASHAMPOO's system you will be bombarded with notices to upgrade to version 12. I tried version 12 and I didn't like it so I stayed with version 11. That may be why they are ignoring me.

On Windows Home 7 64-bit, the install process froze when I chose options Language = English (no change), File Types = None, and Layout = Photo-Edit. Process Explorer showed it was using one CPU full-time and doing no I/O. Killed it, tried again, same thing. Tried again but leaving Layout = Manage/Organize, ran OK. Then ran Configuration|Welcome Wizard changing Layout to Photo-Edit, worked OK.

Just noticed: You can't cancel the Welcome Wizard once you reach the Step 4: Choose Layout dialog.

Haven't tried using it beyond this.

Do you see login prompt anywhere on the page? If yes, try to ask for password recovery (worked for me, I never got registration code until I requested a new password, logged in and updated my profile)

When you click the "Get free activation" button a website opens in your default browser, there you enter your email address, then you check your email and click the link to "Confirm your email address", then you get another web page that asks for your name and date of birth - but I click the grey button that says something on the lines of "Not at this time"! Then you get a registration key to copy and paste into the installation window.

Its not difficult!

Others have mentioned that those that have previously installed version 11, can update within the program. Here is the routine:

1) Open your already installed version 11 of Ashampoo Photo Commander 11.

2) At the top of the window, (to the left of "help"), click on 'My Shampoo'.

3) Click on "Check for new versions, (online update)" and follow the prompts.

You wrote: 3) Click on “Check for new versions, (online update)” and follow the prompts.

I did that carefully, and it's still showing me the 10 day countdown information. Apparently the registration of 11.x was not carried over.. and code given for 11.x won't work on 12. Am I missing something? Should I rip it out and -not- let it upgrade to 12? Can someone please help me figure this out?

Reply   |   Comment by Mark Magill  –  9 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (-2)

Hello Mark Magill, I am a little confused by your comment.

Do you already have version 11.**** on your machine?

If so, you want to upgrade to version 11.1.8, (which is the version being offered here today).
You DO NOT want to install version 12. You would have to PAY for version 12.

Note: I had version 11.1.5 on my machine and I followed the routine I outlined above and in a couple of minutes I had today's version installed.

If this is problematic for whatever reason, you could just download today's offering in the usual manner. (The above is just a shortcut).

Reply   |   Comment by Mister Lee  –  9 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+8)

Remember to only upgrade within the version 11 family. Don't upgrade to version 12.

If you accidentally tried to upgrade to version 12, either buy a license, or uninstall and download today's giveaway again.

English IS my first language and I am experiencing the exact same result. When clicking the button, it flashes a different color, but no action is presented. I am running Win 8.1, but the allowable listed OS included Win 8. I usually have no problem with any of the various registration processes, but this one makes no sense that it does not work for me. The "Show System Requirements" exhibits the same non-action.

Installed and registered without problems on a Win 8.1.3 Pro 64 bit system.

A German company with all legal information as required (name, address, tax-number…).

This is Ashampoo Photo Commander 11.1.8, the company is known for promoting the latest version by giveaway for free the previous versions. The new version 12 is on the market since some month for $ 49,99.

We had had version 11 on August 6, 2014. Here are the old reviews:
http://www.giveawayoftheday.com/ashampoo-photo-commander-11/

Today's version is an update from 2014/09/17. For Ashampoo a rather new one.

The software is good & well tested and Ashampoo is a company strong in marketing. Without that, they would not be a successful as they are.

If you can live with the last year version, than take this. It is an excellent and complete photo tool. There are so many test on the web, that I need not to add the 154th version.

I'll keep it, it replaces my "old" version 11, which I use quite regularly without problems.
