What I liked about this program is that it has some useful features that seem to be lacking in other backup programs.

I haven't started using it yet, but I have Always been very pleased with Ashampoo products. I have bought several of them. Snap Screen Capture is my Favorite. This installed very easily. The code auto pasted / auto activated.

Anyone else keep receiving the message error when attempting to create a Rescue CD / USB / ISO ? :

" A network communications error occurred. Please check if there is a software update available. Please contact supoort if the problem persists.

crownstarT, What version of Windows are you using? I'm using 8.1 Pro and get the same error message. I contacted Ashampoo support on the matter and am waiting for their response.

I can't install because I get this error message: The program can't start because api-ms-win-crt-heap-l1-1-0.dll is missing from your computer.
Can anyone please help? :)

Have used Acronis for over 10 years but gradually got more bloated. I like the no nonsense clean look of Ashampoo and will keep it for now. The big test will be later on.

I have both, backup 2021 and Backup Pro 14 in my Ashampoo-Folder. It seems, the Programs can coexist. I regulary use 2021, so I can't give answers to the differences. I am really happy with the Program.

Tried to install and kept getting error vcruntime140.dll not found error and msvcp140.dll error and could not abort installation. After installation, could not open program because these errors pop up again. Cannot uninstall because these errors keep popping up!

The system requirements here state Windows 7/8/10 but the vendor website states only Windows 10

Backup seems to work fine and quickly but I get a communication error when it tries to email the report. I will run through config again. Might be an issue on my end?

Downloaded. Installed. Opened my existing Ashampoo account. Still have the "Almost Done" window on the screen, saying "Do not close this window until the activation process is complete." It has been over 15 minutes now. Window is still open. Program, of course, does not run. How long should I wait or do I try to start over?? Thanks.

I already have Ashampoo 2021 15.03. Is Backup Pro different? Will it install over 15.03 and continue the settings?

Backup pro is different. It uses, as far as I can see from the Help screens, the exact same version of various libraries (to the year) so it's probably very VERY similar. However, Pro has a snazzier more modern interface, can check your hard drives/SSDs for issues (mine had none so I have no idea what it might offer in the way of repair) and has the ability to send you email notifications of backup status (via your Ashampoo account). Backup Pro 14 allows you to optionally encrypt and/or compress your backups (I didn't notice that in backup 2021). I haven't noticed anything else, but there could be more differences. Oh! Backup Pro 14 also supports various "Online" storage services, like Google an Microsoft, to backup to.

The current version seems to be Ashampoo Backup Pro 15. Ashampoo Backup 2021 was a recent GOTD offer. Today's offer is version 14.09 while the 2021 version is 15.03. Today's offer seems to be (slightly) older software although it may have more features than Backup 2021. I can't find a comparison. I'm going to uninstall and wait for version 15 unless I already have it in Backup 2021.

Stephen Xj, I downloaded the program. Ran the setup file and installed it. Checked the read me file for the software key and didn't find it. Now I am stuck with atrial version and my other Ashamppo uninstaller has been uninstalled. Help

I couldn't find any comparison info either. Unfortunately when there's TLI (Too Little Info) and when I already have the older version which might be better, I will simply stick with what I've got and not risk getting an inferior version. In fact, the likelihood I will try a new piece of software is in direct proportion to the number and quality of the comments. When hardly anyone says a word and doesn't seem interested, I generally skip.

CliveBowerman, the simplest way I can see to compare is compare the features bullet points on each giveaways home pages from the information panels.

The section "Where can I backup to" is vastly expanded in the Pro-14 edition. As is the "What can I backup" section. The "How are backups created" section is slightly bigger too. As is the "Features and benefits" section too so all in all Pro 14 looks significantly more advanced than 2021 edition.
