Greece is the word. I hope there are many pictures of olivia newton john who is from Australia where the kangaroos and boomerangs live. And I hope there is a picture of 5 wallabies playing poker. why five? because somebody has to make the sandwiches!!

Thumbs up to the Acropolis Screensaver, and a big unlubed fist up the ass of the shitbags who thumb down anything they can't create, think, or do -- that is, everything.

Hi, am I a hopeless romantic? Hmm, let's see.. Do I like nostalgia? Hmm, let's see.. Am I bored with staring at my oh-so-static PC screen? Hmm, let's see.. Hey Presto!! - That's where Astro Gemini comes to rescue! Astro Gemini Screensavers fit perfectly into all three (if not more?) states of my heart, soul and mind (not forgetting my body sitting at the desktop!) - all together pondering how to submerge myself into total fantasy, fantasy beyond this and other worlds - goes without saying! (btw, Astro Gemini, should You ever look for another story teller describing each and all of Your Screensavers of extremely realistic 3D graphics, high-quality animations and elegant beauty - I can be that person, please, please hire me!)...

Ah, sorry, mother Earth calling:) - Astro Gemini DID NOT move beyond Windows95 and 98 technology and expectations of what quality graphics ought to be about in 2013, and the only amusing, romantic, nostalgic and fantastic (as-in-fantasy-world-of-their-own?), but joy mostly (did I say fun?) part of any of It's Screensavers package - is naturally "read all about it". So either - please move on and improve so not to tell porkies, or - re-launch Your Products under new "Retro Screensavers for Early Windows Nostalgia" banner?? Oh, another thing - Moon can be normally extremely romantic, or.. resembling one big piece of cheese in the Sky, as you wish.

Lastly - sadly it's true what NothingIsFree is saying about the MyPlayCity installer and please Whiterabbit-uk (I adore and admire Your involvement, expertize and hard work on GGAOTD) - don't take it wrong way:(, un-ticking boxes when installing games from there, or worse following further links from their Site - made no difference and got me personally into big trouble too. Perhaps I was unlucky?

Will not load completely. Shows splash screen then reverts back as if it had played; but it hadn't WinXP SP3 . All the other screen savers made by Gemini; ones I've gotten free here since Christmas have played fine.

I highly recommend "3Planesoft", for those who enjoy screensavers; a much safer site and definitely much safer screensavers.

As someone who still enjoys, quality, screensavers I have several SS sites bookmarked. Of all of those "3Planesoft" is the one I would recommend most highly. Their site is safe, their screensavers are safe, and the highest quality 3D screensavers I've found anywhere.

The Astro Gemini site on the other hand is unsafe, their screensavers are even less safe, and as has been attested to by others with every Astro Gemini offering, the quality is sub par. This is not an opinion; it's fact.

I never got too interested in screensavers, even when they could actually "save your screen". The best way to save your screen is to turn it off when you are not in front of it. Some of you may have too much time on your hands if you've nothing better to do that sit and stare at a screen endlessly seeing the same few images over and over. Besides, I thought the issue of "burn in" only concerned CRT screens, and not the LCD screens now made.

Installed fine on a Windows 8, 64 Bit System.

Interesting screen saver. Immediately blackens the screen - a real saver.

I am worried a little bit about the method to exit this fine piece of software - it's the power reset button on my computer. I couldn't even enter the taskmanager to kill this ancient greece world.

Uninstalled.

I’ve got to say that I was disappointed with this one. I usually love the astro gemini screensavers and never miss a chance to download one, but this one is blatant misadvertising. I agree with #8 “Bubba”.

All you see is a fixed background picture with a little motion for clouds, rain, and a few swinging trees with music. “Heart of Athens, and “take a stroll”……really….

It does it’s work as a nice looking active wallpaper with rain to use as a screensaver, but don’t expect even a look around the corner.

Installed and runs ok on my Win7 64bit. However, AstroGemini has made some really great screensavers, but this one is not among them. One static image with some lighting and weather changes is ultimately boring. There's not even a change of image, let alone any convincing 3D. Even I can make a better screensaver than this.

I think some options would be useful as time adjustment the rhythm of the seasons, weather adjustment, different camera positions just to mention a few.

Astro Gemini have an excellent reputation for quallity screen savers, so I really cannot understand all the negatives.
The download is quick and efficiant as well as registration and installation.
It worked perfect every time.
I think that GAOTD and the companies involved should insist (as a condition of giving a negative) that those who give negatives, should be made account as to why the negative responce and give details so as the company can investigate and improve, as every single person who gave a negative is one negative too many and could undermine the program, and be damaging for sales.
The negative givers are indeed useful as they can actually save the company money and improve sales provided they are constructive in their critisisms. ALL should be rewarded for contructive critism, especially if used to improve the program, thus resulting in greater sales.

For 7 NothingIsFree: Hi, but I do not know what you are saying. One one hand you do not like so many thumbs down "punishing" GAOTD. On the other hand, it seems that something has added many files/megabytes wo asking. I like the fact that you are so emotional and want to say something and trying to find ways to do so. :) But, what are you saying? Specifically? Yes, NothingIsFree, your comments took some effort and I got nothing from them. (But, you are right: NothingIsFree!) :)

I don't know if it "saves" your screen (lol), but for sure it doesn't save energy, because it does 100% use of 1 CPU core for me. Unfortunately, this is a main reason to avoid using this software.

To speak posisive, the best of it's points is the sky emulation (moving clouds/stars/real time option). But the rest is just artistic/surreal and has nothing to do with the theme (Acropolis of Athens). I would prefer to be able to watch the effects over a REAL photo of the Acropolis (even if "photoshoped"), that would be far more interesting.

In my opinion it would be a great idea to have a screesaver in which the user could put a real photo of sth and then enrich it with effects, like for example if the software could recognise and replace the static blue sky with the wonderful sky emulation you have here, etc.

P.S. I live in an appartment about 300 meters near Acropolis, lol. Have a nice day (or night) everyone.

Installs and runs fine (W7/64) but not my cup of tea. The graphics are not "extremely realistic," the action falls somewhere between static and repetitious, and the music calls to mind an oriental buffet restaurant. Better than the stock Windows 'savers/screen art but not what I want.

They say: Embark on a captivating journey back to the cradle of Western culture! Find yourself in the heart of glorious Athens, the city worshipped by gods and people. Take a stroll among the majestic marble columns of the Acropolis sparkling under the bright sun of Attica.

Reality check: It's just a picture. The sun comes up, the sun goes down. The moon comes up, the moon goes down. It rains. That's it.

Astro Gemeni have some great screen savers, I have Christmas Eve and Halloween in the Attic from previous GiveAway's. What's up with this one. I deleted it.

'Nuff said.

SO many thumbs down... Ludicrous... imnho most are trying to punish GOTD for offering this 'stuff'... (Well except for karla - who knows what she's doing?)

(What is Latin for "NON-buyer beware"?) nywy (anyway) i tried @1 (Whiterabbit-uk)'s suggestion (to the letter (ie reject all offers)) and dnld/inst '80 Days' from MyPlayCity. This is not a 'plug' for Acronis but a VERY SERIOUS WARNING to always use PROTECTION!!!

The MyPlayCity "installer", besides who knows what, put 3972 files (66MB), in 121 folders, w/o asking!!!, under C:\Program Files (x86)\!!! i can not properly express my reaction to this... (Let me put it this way: i don't care how many 'no-flags' i get if it saves a few co-members from MyPlayCity shenanigans...)

Regards to those who "vote" like they are supposed to...

Yay... Thank you GAOTD!! Simply manificent. Kudo's Kudo's Kudo's
This is a great giveaway, Simply a 10 out of 10!
I used to sit and stare at my blacked out screen wondering, if there were only a way to save the screen and make it last longer, without dropping a dime. And, PRESTO my prayers have now been answered.
I had my grandkids over sharing popcorn with this going on my 55" screen that doubles as a tv. They had so much fun watching it.
Now instead of having a blacked out screen to see, we have all the glorious colors to not burn out the screen. Thank you Thank you Thank you. Personally I rate this high on the MUST HAVE Charts for everyone who just hates staring at their black screen. Thank you so very much

I have a 16K dowload internet connection. It dowloaded at 0.2k per second, which took ages to download. I have the same problem as Amanda W. I have win7, 64bit. It seemst to begin start up then the screen goes black for half a second and then it goes back to desktop. I have been using planet earth 3D since it was released 10 years ago and trying out all the gotd giveaways. This is the first time this has happened.

Vista 64-bit

It's not working for me.

It doesn't show up on my list of screensavers. When I right-click the application and choose "Test", the goes black for a second like it's going to start, then it just flashes and goes back to the desktop.

If you own the game 'Around the World in 80 days', you can get this for free together will all of the screensavers in the series (6 or 7 of them.

If you don't own the game (it was a previous giveaway) you can still get the game for free from MyPlayCity and possibly Gametop. As with all games from such sites ensure all checkboxes are unchecked during installation otherwise you may find your home page has been changed, your search engine has been changed and your browser has a new toolbar. :)

This is my favorite site, I check it everyday. The only change I would make is, post a serial number that works with it. Thank you Gianni, for you effort.
